The writing for the latest battle was a long process. Here is a very early demo Lloyd put together for John McClane. Only one single line from this demo would end up making it into the final battle.

But these early demos were the guys lay down ideas over the beat are crucial in terms of kick-starting the writing development. Have a listen. Here are the lyrics...

JOHN MCCLANE:

First of all you're both too pretty to fight,

I don't know if I should blast you or if I should swipe right.

Hey RamBlow your face looks like a plastic jigsaw puzzle,

I'd rip your heart out but I'd slip on your oily chest muscles.

And John Wick you ain't lit, you're gonna get destroyed,

you couldn't even protect your dog from Theon Lovejoy.

Hey Stinky! Leave the rats and bats in the gutters,

And you, leave the underground coin game to Mario Brothers.

I've had enough of your bazooka's and chain guns in these fights,

the only high powered weapon I ever needed was my wife.

I'm New York's finest, patrolling these streets,

So much much soul on the mic I rock the beat in bare feet.

You must be Keanu to rapping and <jibberish>,

And bad acting in your movies, well that's Common.

And for this guy talking is like your arc nemesis,

I'd be surprised if Droopy over here gets out three whole sentences.

[Rambo: Hey!]

Look, I'm not trying to start any trouble,

I know your babysitting jobs <jibberish>

I'm like a skyscraper coming down on top of ya,

I leave a couple stars on their knees and I'm not talking Russian Mafia.

Glad with the lines in the final version, although the droopy line cracks me up big time😂
