Okay, so I finally got the details from the animator.

His Pixiv is  https://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=5704101  and he goes by the name "working slave"

He's relatively unknown since he just animates as a side hobby but do check him out as he makes some pretty cool animations.

So...as explained in an earlier post, this is my first time trying my hand at tinkering with Live2D.

Speaking of which... if you were ever thinking about getting Live2D yourself, there's a sale going on right now, I'm pretty sure they never had sales for their product in previous years so this is a pretty rare sale promotion.

You can download it for free and play around with it for 40 something days but after that, you'll have to buy the license for it. In case anyone is interested, the software does come with a user-friendly guide to get you started so give it a try if you want to pick up a rare hobby.

Hmm, am I happy with my attempt at animating it myself?

Well, it has a lot left to be desired but I will have to say it was a welcome encounter to say the very least. I think I learned a lot from tinkering with it so it wasn't without merits since I'd have to pick it up at some point...though nevertheless, I'm not entirely too pleased with my rough animation skills for the time being. ^^;;

I'll just have to improve on my foundations and build experience and skills over the next few months. Though I need to find the time to study it more thoroughly than depend on crash courses on youtube haha...

Initially, I was going to release it early next month but since it's Christmas themed and it's my first real work in Live2D (with slave's help of course) I decided I'll just push this out earlier than planned. ^^ It's a little rough around the edges but I hope you guys can overlook that minor shortcoming this month.

I hope everyone had a chance to spend a wonderful Christmas  (ノ≧ڡ≦)

Your first crack at self made Live2D looked fine to me lol. I wish I was good enough at art to actually take advantage of that discount...the site I was using to learn the anime/manga style was yeeted out of existence, though the guy's video tutorials are still up on Vimeo (...behind paywalls) XD
