Hey! I'd like to start off by apologizing for the radio silence and for the delays.

If you either don't have time or the mood for my essay from below (😅), the most important details are these release dates:

  • Sunday, 13th December, I will release this update for $5+ Patrons.
  • 20th December will be for $1 Patrons and
  • 27th December for Public.

In the past few development updates, I actually had something to show in terms of mechanics and art sometimes, but in the latest 2-3 weeks my time has been spent on writing, reviewing, testing, and drawing as many scenes for the game as the time could allow me. Because of this, I didn't really have much to show since art could spoil the scenes I've prepared and the writing.. even more so.

In the future, I will remember to keep some early versions of the drawings as sketches to make sure this kind of prolonged silence doesn't happen again.

Right now, I have something worthwhile to say at least. The drawings are finished, the text is finished for the most part. I say for the most part, because my focus has been on writing long sequences of dares for your character (there are three dares for now but they have multiple endings that change depending on your choices), so I didn't really write proper sequences of dares that can happen to your character's crewmates. What I will do for now is to write a quick one for both of them, but in the future there will be more fun dares she can give to the others as well.

Speaking of dares, there was one issue that came up in the blackjack stakes game endings. Two or more players can lose all their clothing layers at the same time. Meaning that, since there are three lives each player has, each life being represented by a clothing layer (waist-up, waist-down, and lastly underwear), there's always the possibility that more than one player might lose their last piece of clothing, their underwear, at the same time. To remedy this for now, there will be a Rock, Paper, and Scissors minigame that will determine the singular loser in the end. However, one interesting detail out of this unexpected outcome is that eventually, if there are enough dares for all the players, there can even be specially written dares for two or more players that lose at the same time, as an alternative to the RPS minigame.

Rock, Paper, and Scissors Quick Preview below. It will keep playing until there's only one loser, if there are only two losers it'll play once. I was getting overwhelmed with all the testing I needed to complete for this release, but I received a quick working example from one of the "helpers" in the credits page, Cyrus. On top of that quick working example, I developed some fluff content to make the interactions more alive.

Since I'm pretty much on the final stage of testing, I figure that once I have all the drawings in, I can send a copy to kind people who helped me with testing the previous versions and together with them, I can make sure that this release for Sunday is polished and as bug-free as it can be.

I will post more announcements for v0.1.4 either tomorrow or shortly after the changelog release on Sunday.

Thank you for your patience and I hope that I didn't lose your faith in the past 2 weeks. In the end, it was mostly guilt that kept me from posting more lately, guilt that I might let people down who not only like the game and its setting, but also support its development.
