I just started on some new medication and I forgot to take it today. So, unironically, thanks for the reminder!

Best part of watching this is seeing the reaction to Jang Geunseuk, because I never liked him and now I feel further validated. Really looking forward to next episode though! :)

I think one thing to note with this season is that it was the very first of Produce series, so everything was new, no one knew what would come next, same can be said about the host, they didn't know how much attention the show would get so they didn't go with huge names like other seasons Also I might be still salty about how short IOI's contract was compared to other seasons lol

actually the host was a big name back then - he was a famous actor who was popular in all of Asia, so yeah.. but yeah, everything was super new (and I didn't even want to watch it until now... I probably would never if not for Kaia lol)

Honestly, I feel so validated in my strong dislike of that dude. I couldn't get through this season when I tried to watch on my own because he made me too uncomfortable, so it's nice to see that you share my opinions about him. I'm enjoying watching this with you, though, and I would also like to adopt all of these trainees lol.

I will say that it did (and continues to) take me a very substantial amount of time to recognize Sei with her forehead constantly exposed, especially since she wasn’t under Fantagio at the time lmao. They are all babies and I love them. Also excuse me as I cry over my Pledis girls, as one does.

That one part with the hip hop group did rub me the wrong way when I first watched the show. But now that I’m looking back on it, I kind of understand where the judges’ came from. This is a survival show aimed to create (supposedly) the best Kpop girl group and apparently the girls didn’t suit that wide genre. Not to say that hip hop isn’t a popular genre, but if they’re going to take girls and form one group that blends well with each other, then I get that they have to factor in the possibility that some girls won’t necessarily fit their ideal image of the group. Also, the Korean general public tends to gravitate towards brighter concepts, so having a set of girls who were not matched well in skill, concept, and vibe could pose problems in the future. The group did really well with hip hop, but I don’t think they would’ve particularly matched with IOI’s concepts (pick me, very very, watta man).
