I hit a bit of an art block while texturing my fairy model, it seemed no matter what I did the skin just looked dull and lifeless but after comparing my art to some other artist I realized the problem was that there wasn't enough contrast between the lights and shadows. I've shifted the hue to a cooler color for the shadows and lowered the value. The results look much nicer.

I also ran into a problem in Blender where the color picker wasn't selecting the right color, turned out the subdivision modifier was messing it up so I created two models one without the modifiers applied and one with them applied for texturing.
