The Weekly Report #51 | January 7, 2023 (Patreon)

Hello dear Patrons,

It's Friday (Saturday! sorry for the delay) and it's time to review the events of the past week!

[1] MAPPING FOLLOW-UP GRAND UTOPIA

Saint-Sylvestre-Cappel

This week's report will be quite short as I only continued the construction of the hyper-centre of Saint-Sylvestre-Cappel. As you can see on the pictures attached to this report, there is still a lot of work to do before I can offer you real and beautiful pictures of this third and last playable area of the city.

I did my best to make this area, which is very dense in items, not too heavy and according to my first tests, it is quite satisfactory. Of course, the area is not finished and therefore, all the final items are not yet placed, but I see a clear difference compared to some of the big cities on the map. The Marina district will be the most demanding because, despite the implementation of dozens of Cut Plane, some of the other districts have to be displayed on the screen for it to look good, especially for the open views which have many, many items.

[2] NAMING OF THE BRITISH ISLAND

It's official my dear patrons! You have decided, via a series of votes, that the name of the future British territory of Grand Utopia will be Elizabeth Island! It is true that this is a nice tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II who, on her own, marked several generations, notably by the length of her reign (70 years). Luckily for us French, the record for the longest reign is still held by a Frenchman: our dear Louis XIV with his 72 years of reign 😋

[3] PERSONAL THOUGHTS

From this Monday to next Thursday, I'll be away in the South of France for work. So I think there won't be any report next Friday because I won't have much to report in my article ... It will depend on the progress made this weekend 😏

Bonjour chers Patrons,

Nous sommes vendredi (samedi! désolé pour le retard) et il est l'heure de passer en revue les événements de cette semaine passée !

[1] POINT MAPPING GRAND UTOPIA

Saint-Sylvestre-Cappel

Le rapport de cette semaine va être assez court puisque j'ai uniquement continué la construction de l'hyper-centre de Saint-Sylvestre-Cappel. Comme vous pouvez le voir sur les photos jointes à ce rapport, il reste encore beaucoup de travail à effectuer avant de pouvoir vous proposer de vraies et belles images de ce troisième et dernier quartier jouable.

J'ai fait de mon mieux pour que cette zone, très dense en item, ne soit pas trop gourmande et d'après mes premiers tests, cela est assez satisfaisant. Bien entendu, le quartier n'est pas fini et donc, tous les items définitifs ne sont pas encore placé, mais je vois une nette différence comparé à certaines grandes villes de la map. Le quartier de la Marina sera le plus gourmand car, malgré la mise en place de dizaines de Cut Plane, une partie des autres quartiers doivent s'afficher à l'écran pour que ce soit un minimum joli, notamment pour les vues dégagées qui comportent beaucoup, beaucoup d'items.

[2] ÉLECTION DU NOM DE L'ÎLE BRITANNIQUE

C'est officiel mes chers patrons ! Vous avez décidé, via une série de votes, que le nom du future territoire britannique de Grand Utopia serait Elizabeth Island ! Il est vrai que cela fait un bel hommage à feu la reine Elizabeth II qui, à elle seule, a marqué plusieurs générations, notamment par la longueur de son règne (70 ans). Fort heureusement pour nous Français, le record du règne le plus long est toujours détenu par un français : notre cher Louis XIV avec ses 72 ans de règne 😋

[3] PENSÉES PERSONNELLES

De ce lundi à jeudi prochain, je serai en déplacement dans le sud de la France pour le boulot. Je pense donc qu'il n'y aura donc pas de rapport vendredi prochain car je n'aurais pas grand chose à relater dans mon article ... Cela dépendra fortement de l'avancée faîte ce weekend 😏
