Couple of larger chapters this time, including some worldbuilding I've been wanting to include for a while. I hope everybody has enjoyed the book so far, because the stage is set and several things are about to kick into gear.

I'm confused. Why is he using his phone? I thought the marbles were for reporting anomalies.

It will be completely clear in the context of the whole book, but these chapters may need modification so they don't give the wrong impression.

At the least these chapters should let us know what Rick thinks the marbles are. He may turn out to be wrong, but since it is told from his point of view, the reader should know what he thinks about them. Right now it is excessively vague.

Aren't there immortal masters that've been around since the world was saturated with lucrim? Do they care about how it effects the environment? Are they the ones doing it? Are they just crazy old coots that no one listens too? I have so many questions now.

I have a lot of fun notes about immortals, but sadly all of that is going to have to wait for the third book. Immortals vary from those who are on top of the current power hierarchy to those who feel the world has left them behind.

And maybe those that have left the world behind? I always wander why there are no popular legends and icons or does Rick not just not know any. Also , why is Lucrim being harvested now and who controls the worlds global Lucrim supply? Lucrim stock markets??

The GLA controls the global supply and you'll learn more about them this book. Immortals you're going to have to wait on a bit - right now they're just too high above Rick's practical concerns.

Its probably only me, but using the term "Big Bang" to describe the beginning of this universe sort of breaks the immersion.
