OK, so a friend let me borrow his Graphics Card while I wait for my replacement. It's taken nearly all of my sunday, but I'm back up and running... mostly. The graphics card was definitely the main problem. Before the computer wouldn't even turn on. Now it does.

This led to a new problem, because Windows wouldn't boot. After some trouble shooting I determined that the SSD had failed. Nearly every single file on it was corrupt. Even a video I had been making for this patreon on updates coming in march. (I'll be remaking it tonight and tomorrow.)

LUCKILY, my pack rat habits when it comes to my computer parts has saved the day. My old HDD still had a copy of windows that I could boot from.

So, it actually hasn't affected things that much and everything is pretty much back up and running. Although programs and files are loading way slower, I can deal until replacements arrive.

I have to hand it to EVGA for their customer service so far.  Their first suggestion was that the power supply wasn't providing enough power. I told them I was using the EVGA SUPERNOVA 650 and I had also tested it with a corsair SFX 450. There was no argument, it was just "oh, well, in that case, lets get a replacement for you."

The warranty replacement is a little weird. Basically they send me a replacement of my card (which is a 1070) and I have to pay for it. I then send them the defunct card back, and if the damage is covered, then they reimburse me. Note that I took this option before my friend offered his old card as a replacement. At the time, it was my fastest option to get up and running again. I don't like having spent the money but it's too late now to go back on. However, it's an option I wouldn't have been able to take if not for some generous donations from those supporting me.  So super thanks to you guys.

There are two possibilities for what went wrong.

I was using an RVZ01B case for travelling. That case uses a PCI-E riser card to keep the form factor slim. I think that at somepoint during my travel, the riser card got kind of loose, and caused a short. This short killed the card, and my drive. I think the drive was affected because it was accessing when the system shut down. (This is my highly unprofessional guess tho.)

The OTHER option is that the version of the 1070 that I have, had poor thermal protection on its VRAM.  https://youtu.be/URyG1OP8p8I

If it's the former, I think I'm fucked. If it's the latter, no problem. We'll see.

Anyway, tomorrow I'm doing some sketches and making a vid on upcoming changes to this patreon. (Don't worry, those changes will be coming in march.) And I responded to all of the commission requests for this month.

See you all tomorrow.
