Hello Friends!

Just like in our last Lore Poll, I need some help with getting your thoughts on the backstory of our characters. I'll need to explain this one a bit more, but basically I need to ask you guys:

Why is it so hard for Hun-Ni to communicate?

---

For those already familiar with the game, you'll know that most of Hun-Ni's story is about "miscommunication" because she speaks a different language. Admittedly, this is a pretty shallow story context so I was finding it hard to create multiple story paths based around this.

Sooo... I was thinking of maybe taking an angle similar to (one of my favorite games) To The Moon. In that game, it's about the struggles of communication because of Asperger syndrome. I thought that even if you break down the barriers of language, there's still many layers of "communication" beyond that and the twist is that you still find it hard to communicate with her.

I thought it would be a cool idea, but I worry about touching a sensitive topic with respect, so I wanted to get your thoughts on that first. Doing it tastefully, with the most respect would be the most important thing.

The alternative would've been to center her story around being an immigrant from another country, and how hard it is to integrate. But it was similar to Allie's story of "alienation" and living in a place literally alien to yourself.

I think both are still valid, but I would love to get your thoughts on it!

Just remember aspergers no longer exists per se, it was absorbed as part of the larger autism spectrum.

Good to know! I would definitely go the route of To The Moon where nothing is reallyy explicit. It''s almost an interpretation instead of something specific like that.
