Hi everybody, once again this should have been up yesterday but shit happened and even today wasnt been able to post it earlier.

Lets start with some good news: Finally I was able to update my rig, its not a really big thing (Ryzen 5 3400g with Radeon RX Vega 11, a compatible motheboard and 8gb of ram nothing more)  but now I can work much more faster on my current mods, specially the ones fro RE Remake and I will be able to mod the newest RE games. Took my chances cause economy here is going south (AGAIN) and prices are going up for sure in the future so it was now or never.  Luckily for me there was a big sale on AMD processors due to the inminent release of the new 4000 series.

So now I'm already thinking on some new mods, besides the RE7 retro model mod, for example played the RE3R demo to test the rig and i'm thinking on a retro item mod replacing the item models (I hate the new herbs models!) with recreations of the og RE3 items, something simple to test the waters.

I'm still  accommodating things on the new rig but when im done i will start working on the new stuff.

So lets talk Game boy mod:

Whats new?

  • new icons for the weapons and items adapted from the original icons.
  • new inventory models made in voxel style based on the icons.
  • new Chris player model made in voxel style based on the original game boy sprites
  • new lighting on all the rooms on the first floor of the mansion.

Found a much more better way to translate the original icons to the style used on the game boy version so I ditched all the icons I made from scratch (good thing because they where ugly).

Thanks to this new icons I now have much more better 3D models of the items and weapons made in voxel style.

I also updated Chris's playable 3d model with a voxel style model based on the original sprite, Jill's is not ready because I found that my sprite rips from the characters are not in the real scale and now I'm trying to extract the sprite sheet of the characters directly from the rom instead of using screenshots from an emulator, but its not a simple task, so when I get them i will surelly rework Chris voxel model too.
There is also new lighting on all the rooms of the mansion's first floor. Gemini, creator of the Classic Rebirth Patch, give me the idea of changing the ligthing of the room to get a more flat look on the character making them look even more like their 2d counterparts from game boy.

As always you will need the Mediakite Release of Resident Evil for PC and the Classic REbirth patch for the Game Boy conversion mod to work.

Installation:

- Download the .7z file from the link I sent.

- Extract the .7z in the game folder. You should end up with a  folder called mod_Gameboy in the game folder.

- Inside the  mod_Gameboy  folder you will find a folder called "Movies" copy this folder and paste it in the  game folder and replace the files if necesary.

- Run the game and select the mod from the mod list like in the picture. You need to select the one that say [DEV] at the beginning.

- I recommend playing the game using the retro mode of Classic REbirth for a fully pixelated experience.

If you have any doubt or find any bug post them in the comments so I can fix it for the next build.

As always thanks for your support! It really helps me a lot!
