It was a pain, but almost done :D (Patreon)

Hey guys, time for an update :D
By now you know if I go silent for a few days, I'm cooking something nice . Now it is still not done but i figured i'd show you where my mind was for the past week :D
This time I have been working on the Predator helmet , with stand, working tri laser pointer, inner mask details, and you know the usual nice stuff. The things you see are still WORK IN PROGRESS.
Figuring out the tri point laser was so frustrating and it still is :D its not perfect sadly, but it's quite good
The biggest thing I wanted to solve is the 3 dots getting larger as the laser is pointed further away. To combat that I have tried tilting the beams towards each other at 1%, 4% and 6% with no success. I have learned in the end that this will be impossible due to something called beam divergence, which basically means the further out the dots are the larger they get. The way to really fix it is to use some super expensive lasers or lenses or have a 0.01 perfect parts aligent to 0,1 degree towards each other so they would meet at about 2 m in distance, but we will not be doing that, which only means you're dots will get larger when they are shined further away, but that is a little sacrifice we have to take , i just wanted to share the crazy stuff i have been trying out to solve the beam :D
Anyways, I did manage to create, what I (at least hope or think) I think is the world's smallest 3 point laser pointer by using some very cheap laser diode's from aliexpress that you can focus/align yourself with and you can see them in action in the video.
I don't even have to to say i printed tons and tons of parts just to figure out the perfect tolerances :D
so to recap, what's left to do
- close up the laser pointer and integrate it into the helmet so it can be removable
- finish up the desk stand ( detailing phase)
- eye mesh comes both as hex mesh and clean and vacuum form template and are removable
- fix some inner face details ( full disclosure - inner details are a bit different that in the references i had due to removable eye mesh, and my attempt to avoid supports in those areas, so i had to do a slight design change
So please give me a few more days, i promise you will not be dissapointed, and thank you for your patience :D
