It's that time again!

Hi there! This is Sauce. I'm currently the working sprite artist still for Sunny Day Jack. And I thought it'd be fun/easier to continue logging my progress to transform SDJ's sprites.

This would have to be my fourth time redoing them, if you don't count minor tweaks to existing sprites or one abandoned attempt near the very beginning. It definitely is strange to be drawing this man AGAIN-- But I have to say, the process (as usual) is extremely relaxing. I would definitely compare it to making a custom dress up doll.

I was challenged to "bring back" the cartoony, simplified style of the second sprites, as well as the multi-pose aspects of the first batch. I anticipate major characters will have about three poses while minor characters will have one. dress-up

Prior-- ALL outlines were colored. But this tested back as the art looking gummy and plastic. We first went as far as testing the rendering on SEVERAL Smiley Cakes to get a mutual consensus as a team on what looked best.

More updates to come! I know art isn't always the most exciting part of development-- but I'm confident that these new sprites will look gorgeous and share much more functionality than their predecessors.

I thought the only one who needed updating was Nick? I fell so hard for the last set of sprites.

It looks like Jack is mixed race in a lot of his art. I'd love to know what his mix is.
