We have a new way you can support Medievalists.net and get a great benefit. We have teamed up with Tina Ross to create maps of the medieval world. Every month Tina is going to be designing digital versions of maps that tell the story of one part of the medieval world. These will be unique maps, which will range from looking at country or continent, to a city or small region.

Tina Ross is an archaeological, graphic, and publication illustrator with 15+ years experience in the fieldwork throughout the Mediterranean as well as in several publication houses across North America. She has had maps published in magazines and academic journals, and some of her artifact illustrations have been featured in National Geographic.  You can find examples of her work and current projects on her website, Twitter or Instagram.

The first map will feature England during the Norman Conquest

You can sign up through two tiers - the first is a $20 a month tier, where you will get the digital map, which will be a PDF at a size of roughly 6 by 6 inches, which is a great size for including in publications but can also easily be scaled larger in order to be printed and displayed.

You can also sign up at $35 level, where you will get the map, plus the digital editions of The Medieval Magazine and Medieval Warfare magazine.

Got the first map, England during the Battles of Stamford Bridge and Hastings. Really high quality, beautiful work. If anyone is on the fence about supporting Medievalists.net to that tier, I strongly recommend it. In my PowerPoints to classes on that subject I have been using maps that were workable but lacking. I can’t wait to replace my old mediocre map with this one ... and I’m really looking forward to the next one (Africa, I believe?)!

I'd love to get the map of England sent to Richard Stokes! I just joined the website to get better insight into my family in England and that might fill in some gaps. Thank you in advance. If it's available somewhere on the site, let me know and I'll head over there.
