Hello patrons!

Today we are sending the In-Development Build of Sakura Scifi to our 40$ tier patrons to try out the game! This game will be nearly double in size the average Sakura game, so expect a lot of story, moans, and fun!

You may also wonder, who is this beautiful woman on the image of this post? She will be the protagonist of our first free mini VN. It will be in a medieval fantasy theme, with swords and magic. Please comment on this post with name suggestions as we haven't come up with a name yet! I will gather all the answers for a week!

The free VNs are going to be really short. Our average game (think Sakura Shrine Girls or Sakura Space) has 20-25 CGs and 2 sprites, while the mini free VNs will have only 1 sprite and 3 CGs. It will be about 15-20% the general size of a normal game. The patrons of the right tier and up will get 2 extra CGs of adult content, but the free version may have adult content as well. Some of those VNs might be the follow-up of a previous one, like mini-chapters, but not all VNs will follow each other story-wise.

However, don't worry, it will not take away from the actual production of our games. For example, right now a lot of Inma's VNs are waiting for writer input to progress, so she has time to do this. We cannot provide information on the frequency of those free VNs yet because this is such a new concept, so please feel comfortable to wait if you are unsure about changing tier.

One of the upcoming games I want to highlight today is Sakura Demon Queen!
There will be voice actors working on it as well as a professional Japanese writer. The story will not include yuri and you will play as a male protagonist. It will be Steam released and there will be a hentai patch. We're also going to release a character design, the first artwork made for it yet!

...Soon. :3 Now go enjoy Sakura Space, the Sakura Scifi Build, or those beautiful pictures of the new mini VN!

No name suggestion at the moment, but I'm happy that they brought someone in to help with PR, someone like you has been needed for some time now. Even considered suggesting/asking about that but I figured without someone like you on the team nobody would listen. Now however I feel much more inclined to be involved and to continue supporting you! Are you going to be involved with editing games at all? While the grammar has been getting better over time I know Shrine Girls still had a few errors that were a bit annoying. Based on your posts I am guessing you could help quite a bit in the English department. As for the new tier reward, you mention waiting and seeing but that has a few issues. Firstly if we wait and see will we be retroactively granted the extra content from older games? Or can we only "wait" until you can tell us more even though you aren't entirely sure yet of the frequency of these free VNs, and possibly cannot accurately predict this long-term. Tough to say wait and see if we are going to miss our chance to see this content by doing so. I know giving all content retroactively may be risky/too much but maybe just giving out the extra content from the previous 2 or 3 games would allow you and supporters some time to figure things out like the frequency/how worth it this tier really is. Secondly, for the extra content 2 CGs is one thing but extra dialogue was also mentioned. Are we talking the CGs and a few lines more or is the "extra edition" going to have nearly double the content? (5 CGs vs 3 is nearly double after all). I know not much is known yet but more details would be appreciated/warranted when they are available. Or could you possible consider something like making the first one's extra content available somehow so that we can see first hand what this new tier is offering? Maybe offer it for a couple $ to lower tiers or something. "Some of those VNs might be the follow-up of a previous one, like mini-chapters" hmmm wouldn't necessarily have to be a follow up of one of the other free VNs would it? So if Wanaca ever has time for these one could be made as say a mini-chapter follow-up of Fantasy Chapter 1? If it is going to be free low sales are not a worry, so perhaps a glimmer of hope for fans of Sakura Fantasy? Just a thought in case you do decide that it is too risky to make Fantasy Chapter 2 as a full game even with all the previous comments on it a while back.

"Please comment on this post with name suggestions as we haven't come up with a name yet!" Sakura Fantasy 2. Like... "It will be in a medieval fantasy theme, with swords and magic." is pretty much Sakura Fantasy. =|

Sekai Project is taking care of our game's dialogue corrections. I will make sure to mention it to them in case some mistakes have slipped out before. I sadly cannot say much about the free VNs because I know very little right now. Once the first mini VN is nearly finished, I can confirm the amount of dialogue/choices and other things to really clarify what this new tier is offering, before you actually end up missing the chance to pledge and get the full content of the mini VN. What we have been discussing, is the option to show what the player is missing in-game. So for example, out of 3 choices during the game, one of them would be greyed out, so they know that there is special content here that they cannot access. We are discussing releasing that version first, and give it a week so that patrons can change their pledge, and then release the full one to the 30$+ tier. The mini free VNs can indeed be a follow-up to anything we actually decide to do indeed :)

Is Sakura Demon Queen another new VN you're working on? Are you currently working on five then (Demon Queen, Adventure, Dragon, "Sci-fi" and "free mini VN")?

Yes, but not everyone is working on the same parts at the same time. We are rotating the work between our staff, pretty much. Otherwise, they would have to wait for each other to continue working.
