That would be great to react to the cast and their videos together. But make sure to ask us or your mods which videos to watch and which ones to avoid. I heard one video the cast were asked 50 questions about One Piece and they spoil the heck out of stuff you guys haven't seen in the anime due to the actors/actresses of luffy and nami being caught up to the manga.

Season 2 is not in production but the script has been written, likely before even season 1 aired. Still need the green light from Netflix and for them to pay their writers to get Season 2 going

KevUrb

I think both buggy and arlong actors killed it. Kuros actor did a great job as well, as well as Mihawk…. The list goes on, the cast was incredible. Ben beckman might be my only gripe 😅

SomeoneElse

They said when the writers strike ends, they could have season 2 ready within 12-18 months

Stellarnut

Does anybody else think Arlong is Mel’s favorite character?

SomeoneElse

I was thinking that. Going to rewatch their reactions to confirm. Will let u know

JacksOnion Lee

wdym lol. literally they dont talk bout manga stuff. The actors not even the biggest One Piece fans like that. Its safe to watch all their clips on Instagram or Youtube (I watched all so I can guarantee it)

2023-09-13 11:49:52 Not sure if you guys know this, but oda was pretty apprehensive about the changes made to the script with Garp in the live action. Netflix really had to push this to get it approved. All in all I like the additional stuff with Koby but I do feel Garp’s presence feels a bit premature and overshadows a lot of the characters at this early stage in the story. Though at the very least Garp is represented like he is in the manga its just hopefully they don't loose sight of this. Garp is kind of a mysterous enigma at this point with a huge gap of power difference between him and the SW crew so as long as they maintain that, then everything should be ok.

If they would of had luffy get a hit in on garp I would of called bullshit, im happy they just let him get demolished

nahhhhhhhhhhh bruh Garp ISNT well represented at all, at least 50% of him missin (the humor side). Do people really not know how goofy Garp was even from the beginnin? There are 2 cover stories before his appearance on post-Enies Lobby that prove it. 1) He had a Most Amount of Donut eaten in 24 hours challenge. I dont think live action Garp has the same energy, too serious. 2) When he was transportin Axe-Hand Morgan to Impel Down, he fell asleep MID convo with Morgan and Morgan escaped the restraint. Afterward he slashed Garp, guess what Garps's reaction was. He simply just woke up and asked who got hurted like he didnt feel anythin lol

Ibzinho

Yeah his portrayal would have been more accurate if they made him less serious with his pursuit of luffy and showed a bit more of his loving side. All other changes for Garp I was fine with though.

2023-10-17 00:44:37 Yeah, in the start, I was a bit worried but as the series went on, the personality characteristic of garp started to present itself at least towards the end there when he started laughing. How ever garp would have never let luffy go in the manga, he was a consistent antagonist towards the straw hat crew and fulfilled the justice system of the navi in every sense of the word. He would also pursuit luffy as if he was going to be caught and thrown in prison for his crimes. In here they almost made him act sort of like he's their friend because he and luffy have history. I mean that is what makes OP so interesting is oda creates so many characters in this world, but each has their own individualism and ideologies and their own goals and purpose, it’s not like fairy tale where everyone becomes friends and holds hands. If Netflix loses sight of this, then it’s completely unfaithful to the source material. In S2 they have to portray garp as a villain of sorts against the straw hat crew because that is the way it is in the manga. So I do get were oda is coming from and I wish netflix would have just listen to the author instead of trying to force their own creative liberties into the series. But part of the larger reason for this is with western developed shows, its kind of a requirement that you have multiple story lines running at once from different points of views, hence the inclusion of the ongoing garp and Koby plot thread.

but the laughs werent genuine. The writers could have added him laughin that will seem natural. Instead what do we get? he laughed at the beginin of ep5 after he threw a tantrum (yellin and screamin) when Luffy bounced the cannon ball back. To me its more like a "it is what it is" kinda of laughter instead of the embodiment of his carefree spirit
