We revisit the first seven episodes (released prior to the start of our Patreon) to give them a proper Talking Dad. This episode finds us in a very introspective mood as we reflect on our characters and how much we setup in our first episode without even realizing it!

Spoiler Alert! Do NOT listen to these until you've finished Season 1! Because we're recorded these much later, we talk about (and potentially spoil) events that happen throughout the entire first season.

Toyota Sienna is so much better than the Honda Odyssey. All wheel drive baby

Fudge McFreely

It was the POWER! POWER! that made me realise this was going to take over my life

Nicholas Bugeja

The time travel they edited in was the best joke ever. I thought they weren't gonna bring it back around

Dylan Koenig

I just listened to this episode for the second time. Hearing the gang giggle as much as they did was so heartwarming.

Annabelle Jacobs

You may want to put the spoiler alert above the blurb about the episode so it’s immediately viewable to newer patrons scrolling through the feed. This is probably the first video new subscribers will be interested in watching and they may not look closely enough to avoid spoilers!

Thank you, do we have a rough idea about when the new season will be started, just curious and excited

For a second time I've had to edit the file name to have the .mp3 file extension so my podcast player would be able to recognize it

Its small but I really appreciate that they said they did a second session 0. It kinda seems obvious that oh this is the rough draft session ofc they can do it over but sometimes groups get stuck in trying to flow correctly or, in a not so pretentious way, they just didnt know what they were doing wrong. Shows a good example to dnd players

Daryl might not be the main character but he is in the middle of the poster

I actually restarted the series this morning, so I'm super stoked to listen to this!!

Love this!!!

I would be really interested to hear Anthony’s take on NADDPOD, which I assume is on the list of other actual play podcasts you checked out. It stands out to me among most other actual play pods for production values and focus on entertainment, although their main campaigns have a much tighter rules set than the Daddies thanks to Normal Ass Dude Murph and Constraints Only Empower Me Emily Axford. Anyway, I think it’s another very successful take on creative professionals making an entertaining product, and I’d love to hear Anthony’s take on relative strengths/weaknesses of these very distinct approaches.

SJB

I'm not sure I'd like to listen to anyone talk about the "weaknesses" of another podcast! Each are great in their own right, and I don't know that you could compare apart from saying "D&D I guess"

Being mean to each other in character is so great for the dads- I wish there had been even more conflict like that in the series- but I wonder if it might not go so well for teens, I feel like that might make everything super real and anxety right off the bat. I think that degree of separation where y'all don't immediately break down crying for killing those guys at the beginning is so important for making this a fun funny podcast to enjoy. I feel like the audience especially on discord complained too much about the dad's being horrible people but that's the point! They are MUCH better characters with flaws and much funnier too.

SJB

I would love to hear about Matt and Beth getting to know each other, and how that impacted on Darryl and Ron. I think it's so brilliant on a re-listen how much Darryl just didn't get Ron to begin with, but how much he comes to love him in the end

kayce webber

I didn't realize the cheating was retconned. Not that it matters much because they had such a trauma bonding moment and by the time we see her again she is so far removed from the person she was when she gets that call. It's so redemptive.

Amazing

I 'm very happy to have started listening to this podcast because this had inspired to finally start dnd, which I'm happy to start, so thank you.

Yoka

I disagree with the episode one being better because they took turns to be quite i prefer when they just talk shit and joke around and shit. I wanna play dnd that is like that.

Yoka

Who else wants to see episode 0?

Nathan

I know that this post is old, but Beth brought up Terry Jr. saying, "Uh probably die." That's the line that made me stick with this podcast.

Oren Tuchman

for me, it was "Iodine, I-Don-Mind!". such a bad joke
