Hello Patrons!

We're all set to record another podcast but would love some more questions from the listeners. If you've already asked a podcast question that has not yet been answered, you don't need to ask it again, as we have made a note of all our favourite submissions and hope to address them in future episodes.

Remember, as our esteemed financial supporters, we'll be exclusively coming to you for weekly discussion topics, so please read the following guidelines before submitting:

- No controversial or naughty questions please

- This is a video game podcast about video games so please keep the questions video-game-related

- If there's a particular event or happening in the industry that you'd like us to discuss in detail, feel free! We like to address one 'big question' per week to headline each show, and pepper in smaller questions throughout

- Try to avoid topics we've covered before

- "Questions on a postcard" (don't make your question too long!)

- We ask for questions on Tuesday and typically record on Thursday morning, so try to get your questions in before then

- If your question isn't answered, don't despair! We keep a log of all questions and sometimes sub in older ones, so it could be answered in a future episode

Thanks all! We look forward to reading through your offerings, and we can't overstate how much we appreciate your support on Patreon and elsewhere!

- Peter and Ben

Are there any games that you loved playing at the time but that you could never go back to? I enjoyed Spiderman and The Witcher 3 so much that I played them to death, and I had the bittersweet realisation at the end that there was nothing left to find or do, and that even though they're now two of my all-time favourites, I'll probably never pick them up again.

There have been some wonderful "comeback stories" in gaming lately, no man's sky, battlefront 2 etc. But what's your personal favourite? ie one you hated to begin with but then grew to like. Not necessarily one that was overhauled

Hey lads. Hope you’re doing well. We millennials need avocados. It’s why we can’t have houses. What is the most avocado like game? In human words, what game do you think has a really solid core (mechanics, characters or world etc), but everything surrounding it is kinda soft and mushy (in need of improvement, or just a bit bland). Mine is Mario + Rabbids (which is still dominating my life somehow) because the central gameplay is brilliant, but the more you play it, the more the forced puzzles and exploration grate on you.

Hey dudes With everyone waiting with bated breath over the release of the Atari vcs this year. (It's definitely getting released this year, it's not vapourware, how dare you). Also the revolutionary Sega Game gear mini, 4 handhelds with 4 games per handheld,(a stroke of marketing genius). Why are we so happy to be nostalgia beaten by these companies. I guess we have too much money to care and will pay any price to have what we want. Capitalism rules and we'll all live happily ever after. What you say boys. Merry Triplejumpmas. xx

I have an important question: If you guys were Pokemon, what type would you be?

Richard Grupe

Hey, guys, this question might have already been asked but ill ask it anyway. What do you guys do when you get tired of gaming? During this time if found myself getting bored with playing games and have had to turn to doing something else.

If you could have Brian Butterfield replace one voice actor for a character in a video game, which would it be and why?

Hello boys! I recently watched Neil Druckmann Interviewing Hermen Hulst, on YouTube and it really echoed some point you made in last week's podcast about diversity in games. When speaking about developing relatability, and the importance of having the player care for the Aloy Hulst specifically says, "your never going to be a red-headed girl." While Druckmann responds that he finds it interesting and disagrees with the idea "that (you) can't relate to someone because (your) a different race, gender, or sexual orientation. But your okay playing a murder? How can you relate to that, but not someone that is a different gender." He goes on to explain the importance of humanizing characters in video games. (***I'm paraphrasing, the whole conversation, which isn't long and starts at the 19:00 mark of the video on the official PS channel.) My question for you boys is off that comment, why do you think there is the stigma, especially in THIS industry on diversity? It seems that when it comes to video game characters there's a conversation from both consumers AND marketing by publishers on "what" a character is (i.e. race, gender, sexual orientation) rather than "who" they are. Personally, as a white female gamer, I do have some great representation in the industry that maybe wasn't there a decade ago. But as far as relatability to characters goes, I can "murder" as Kratos just as much as Aloy because the game's world makes it logical. Why do you think, a vocal segment of players relate and don't question a game's mechanics but get so caught up on how a character looks and acts? Thank you for the excellent content & keep up the great work! ***Sorry for the long question and "homework" accompanying it. I hate to get serious and controversial, but as someone who lives in American supporting the current movements, I couldn't help but keep this on my mind. If you do read my question, even if you don't use it, thank you for your time and thoughtful remarks last week.

Hello Ben and Peter! The Last Of Us 2 is out in next Friday. I usually preorder games that I really look forward to, but haven’t preordered anything recently because I get worried about preordering games and not liking them. I know you guys have spoken about this before, but I want to ask if there were any games you’ve preordered, but disliked it after playing it. Thank you guys for all the amazing streams and content. They’ve been really helpful to me this past year while I’ve been in school. Big love to you boys! -Steven Scodes

Hey Ben and Peter! The combat system in the Arkham games has been replicated and used in a number of other games. What combat systems from games you've enjoyed would you like to see used in popular game properties, such as superhero or movie based games?
