Would you like us to make splash art of our maps? (Patreon)
Content
Hey everyone! Some of you will have already been part of this ongoing discussion on our Discord but we wanted to bring the discussion here for those who don't use Discord or didn't see our pings.
This piece of splash art was made to accompany our Shadow Fortress Bridge map. It was originally created specifically for use in Alchemy RPG but having seen some positive responses about the map in conjunction with the splash art it made us consider whether we should be making more art to accompany our maps.
The response on Discord was a resounding YES! Most people said they wanted it to help show the map from a new perspective and others said they'd use it when setting the scene or storytelling pre-battle. But please tell us your opinions!
- Are you interested in splash art?
- Would you like to see generic RPG splash art (taverns, hills, forests, etc.)
- Or specifically splash art of our maps?
- Are there specific maps or variations you'd love to see splash art for?
- Would you need multiple variations for the splash art (day, night, etc.)?

A common concern that came up was that this might replace or reduce our ability to release battlemaps. That won't be the case at all. Our fantasy battlemaps are our bread and butter and that won't be changing. We've started several new projects, including Borough Bound and Hyperdrive Fleet and always been able to release 3 maps here per month! (sometimes 4!)
And just so it's clear for those voting: if we do start making splash art, we will start a new patreon for it. This one (Czepeku) will stay exactly as it is and there'll be a new patreon for those who are interested in splash art. That way we won't mess with great system we have here. And it allows us to set up new tiers and price it in a way that makes sense for how time/money/effort it costs us to make it. There'll be no assumption that you need to join the splash art patreon, it's just an extra for those who do want it.
So please, let us know using the poll options and by commenting below! Or come to the Discord and join the conversation in the #map-murmuring channel! :)
