And still not as far along as I hoped. Sorry if this doesn't make a lot of sense, I've been up for about 30 hours now, but I'll try to be as clear as possible.

It's only fair I give you guys a clear update as to what I've done, and what needs to be done for the cooking update.

Most of the trickier programming is done, I just need to rearrange a couple of things, and program in the cooking screen, but it's pretty straightforward. That's maybe 3-4 hours worth of work at the most.

There is still a lot of busywork for the programming (You'll be able to navigate around the world now, once I make sure all the buttons are in their proper places) But again, that shouldn't take too long. Another 3-4 hours (less if I can avoid being distracted, and abuse cope/paste a lot)

Art wise I've done almost all of the major backgrounds, and placeholder versions of a lot of the other images. Once again, they'll probably get fixed up later, but they'll do for now. You probably don't want to wait an extra fortnight just so the backgrounds look extra pretty.

Chloe's art is almost done! Just a couple of size pictures to go (and maybe a few more expressions)

Patty is a bit lacking in that respect, though she's the quickest girl to draw, so I can get through her stuff quickly.

I still need to do the art for a couple of minor characters here and there. I'm thinking I might just do the one picture of each of them, and have them be static for now, though they'll change expressions later. (Once I have time to add them into the game)

As for the writing...well, that's the part that will take the longest unfortunately. I have events and conversations planned out, mostly good to go, but frustratingly, I can't just copy/paste my notes into the game (The program I type out the script in, ATOM, is really temperamental with things like that) Which means I have to manually type it all out. That alone will be a couple of days worth.

So overall, we're looking at...a time until the next update. It's ASAP for me, I'll be going through as many extra hours as I can handle, but it probably won't be until next week at the earliest. Hopefully early in the week, but we'll see. I've got a lot of other commitments that have decided to rear their ugly head right now, and they promise to be plenty time consuming (hopefully not too much though!)

So let me know I guess. I'm thinking I might go for daily progress updates, just letting you guys know what I got done on the game. It should help speed things along (and stop you from feeling like you're in the dark!)

I'm going to try and get a couple more hours work done, then go to bed. Stay safe everyone!

It's awesome to hear you're making good headway and the first proper update is on the way, but please don't push yourself too far or burn yourself out. We can wait for an update and you shouldn't feel like you need to force yourself to make tons of progress every day, especially if you have other commitments. It will only hurt the game in the long run if you push yourself to do too much work and stop enjoying the process of making it. So just do what you can and we'll wait and be grateful for whatever updates we get.
