It was a dark and stormy night - but that just added to the ambiance. Jenny hoped the storm would hold during the session which thankfully, would be starting soon. She sat, her GM’s notes spread out on the table in front of her, GM book taking front and centre as she made last minute tweaks to her encounters. Soltinn’s fireballs had been dominating the last couple of fights so she had been thinking about adding a little magic resistance. Slimes might not be known for that kind of thing, but Skull slimes could be. They were her design, her biggest contribution to the campaign and she was very proud of her creation.
The donkey reached forward but not for pen or paper, this time she reached for one of the donuts sitting on a plate beyond the sprawl of her preparations. True to form, Loretta had been bringing massive amounts of food for every session, by far outdoing everybody else’s contributions. Not that it was entirely surprising, she was a big girl after all. But at the same time Jenny had an annoying habit where-by if there was food on the table she would munch and nibble away until it was all gone. The first couple of sessions she’d had to grip her swollen stomach as she waddled slowly away from the table after the session. She knew she was overdoing it but she just... couldn’t help herself. The smell of burgers or cheap Chinese food, whatever Loretta brought to the table, she couldn’t resist leaning forward and taking another bite, another forkful, another bowl. Though she herself hadn’t quite noticed it yet, the consistent overeating was working its way into other areas of her life, as evidenced by the plate of donuts in front of her and the way her shirt was stretching around her stomach, now too small by multiple sizes.
Leaning back in her chair, Jenny absentmindedly scratched at the exposed patches of brown fur on her middle. Of course she hadn’t noticed it, nor how her stomach had rounded out in front of her into a constantly stuffed, taught dome of fur and digesting food. She had been too busy playing games - and planning them. Her chair squeaked beneath her, barely tolerating the additional thirty or so pounds she’d managed to pack on, a massive amount for such a short time but with weekly sessions producing leftovers it was inevitable.
Chewing on the tip of her pen the donkey gave one last look over her latest invention - the Slime Queen! Well, actually the Skull Slime Queen if she wanted to be specific. A busty slime girl with all the confidence and strength of a dragon at twice the girth. The Skull Queen was going to be the main antagonist of their game’s arc, producing skull slimes to take over the local area and defend it. She already had so much personality planned for the Skull Queen she couldn’t really imagine writing her out so quickly. Jenny had even done a few sketches! Perhaps she would be a recurring villain, the kind that oozed 90’s queer coding.
“Your friends are here!” Her mom’s voice echoed through the house, pulling Jenny from her villain-esque thoughts.
“Let ‘em in please!” She called back.
It was but a few moments later when the party arrived - apparently they’d all taken the same car. Bel was waddling in front per usual - she needed extra time to squeeze through the doorways. From behind her Katie rushed up to her spot at the table, already setting up and talking excitedly about what Tokaka’s adventures would be today. Vic and Loretta were last with Vic helping Loretta with armfuls of whole stacks of pizza, loaves of garlic bread and packs of mozzarella sticks swinging in bags from their arms. The smell of the delicious meal to come already had her taste buds watering and the donkey shivered with excitement. For the game, or for dinner, she could not tell.
