I mean considering that all TG aspect was forced into his life without any knowledge is quite problematic. He might have interests. Yet he didn't choose it on it's own.

...but still felt that being a young woman was more comfortable to him. Shobu wanted to remain as a woman, not the other way around. He may not have chosen it, but he wanted that new life, and had accepted it. IMHO, that was 'things back to normal' to him.
