JoJo Immersion Adventure (Patreon)

Hey y'all! So it's been a week since I got back from Japan, and holy shit it feels like months have gone by already.

While I didn't take as many photos as I probably should have, I posted a snippet of pics I did take (BELOW). 

The first shop I passed with JoJo stuff, I got so amped, only to later realize that they were all over the place. Though not nearly as popular as One-Piece, Dragonball, Fate, and a lot of shows that apparently revolve around a cast of princess warriors (those had like building sized posters, television commercial appearances, food endorsements, etc ... like everywhere).

I had just missed the JoJo art show in downtown Tokyo, which I had seen promoted in Japanese subways. We didn't make it to Sendai, so I missed out on seeing where Araki based Morioh. And then there were two JoJo bar/cafes that were apparently in renovations or had moved... so, not the best luck in that category.

Most of the shops didn't even carry merch related to part 8, while parts 3, 4, 5, and 6 all had plenty of representation... a little part 7. Expectedly, part 5 has a revitalizing boost from the current anime adaptation.

It's interesting to see as JoJo became more for adults, its public presence became less prominent. Understandable, from a marketing standpoint.

I think if I return (crossed-fingers another crazy deal drops in the future, $450 round-trip!), I'll wanna spend some quality time in Sendai and see what locations of Morioh I can find. Also, if you guys ever go, be sure to purchase a JR pass. You can only purchase them outside Japan (though it is made and sent from Japan...such a weird rule), and they'll save you hundreds of dollars on travel if you plan to bounce around Japan by train.

All in all it was a great trip, the first I've taken since Mexico last year. Funnily, this was similar. 8 days, traversed most of the country. One night, one city. Lots of photos, lots of learning, and miraculous work related deadlines popping up while traveling. 

Luckily with all the travel, I was able to board more and have almost the entire music-base for the entire first episode queued up (that's gonna help a ton figuring out the flow of action). Before the trip, I erased all the games and music I had on my phone, and uploaded the entire JJBA musical score (parts 1-5, all discs).

Alrighty! With Japan trip deadlines out of the way, I'll be diving hard into animatics for the first episode and should have some stuff to show you guys this month. <333
