Let's Create An Emperor's Champion (WIP) (Patreon)

Hello!

Fresh off the press comes a WIP for the Emperor's Champion!  Warhammer 40K is a fascinating setting.  It's a mixture of sci fi, historical references and absurd, over the top violence mixed with a healthy dose of irony.  That combination makes it one of the most interesting universes to explore.   

The Emperor's Champion is a unique warrior in the Black Templar's Space Marine Chapter.  They are equipped with the sacred relics of the Chapter including the Black Sword.  An Emperor's Champion has a very distinct look, so I have tried to match the visual style of various artworks while making sure to capture the bulkiness of a Space Marine (they are essentially walking tanks).  

Bit of 40K trivia - the most famous Emperor's Champion is Sigimund.  He was the first to take up that mantle and one of the deadliest Astartes in melee combat.  Sigismund famously participated in the Siege of Terra, challenging every Chaos Champion he came across and reducing them to a bloody smear.  Coincidentally, the Siege of Terra book series is happening right now.  Let's hope the authors can give Sigismund the badass highlights he deserves!
