Hello!

Fantasy Month has started! High resolution turntables are available here and the links have been sent out. So first up is Red Sonja, said to the be the greatest swordswoman of the Hyborean Age. Like Vampirella, I've never read any of the comics or movies. All I know is her visuals have changed drastically depending on the decade. But a specific style won the poll so I will do my best to make a cool version of that. Right now, my diorama idea for Red Sonja is for her to slice up a giant monster in half with a lot of gory visuals. If Red Sonja fans like that idea or want something different please let me know.

A fan of the 1985 Red Sonja film did request I make the version depicted by Brigitte Nielsen. But from a visual standpoint, those are almost two completely different characters . So for now, I will try to include a bunch of her equipment from the movie and see if I can get to her actual costume and hairstyle later.

Next up is my completely original Fantasy character, the Fairy Queen! So just a brief refresher the idea for this project was to do a character in a more casual setting (aka, slice of life diorama) and see if the community wants more of that. One thing I've noticed about Fantasy month projects is that nature based characters don't really win polls. So I think something nature based is a good starting point for this type of experiment. Plus this should be good for painters who really like environmental type stuff. 👍

So my idea for the Fairy Queen is pretty simple and not really based on any pre-existing character. She's a fey type creature with powerful magic and protects her forest from outsiders (size of territory is up to DMs). Nature's creatures, druids, rangers and Wood Elves are her allies. You can make up any backstory your want for her in a campaign but I guess she'd be roughly equivalent to Lady Alustriel of Silverymoon in terms of CR.

Anyways, the idea for my Fairy Queen diorama would be interacting with woodland creatures (hello Daisy!). If any painters have a good idea what kind of pose or activity the Fairy Queen could be doing, I'd love to hear it. BTW, I always liked those Redwall Mice characters that are in the Fantasy polls from time to time so maybe I'll have some of them chilling out with her. I think that would be pretty cool. 😄 What do community members think of this original character so far? Please let me know in the comments and add a reaction if this is something you want to see more of.

Also, for this month's Sci Fi poll, I am planning to make it faction based as per the survey suggestion just to see how it works out. Right now I'm thinking superhero/supervillain themed but if someone really wants a specific faction to be covered, please let me know. Thanks!

Akroma Angel of Wrath is next! I will also make a unique monster for Red Sonja to battle in an epic diorama! Stay tuned!

Fey Queen just fixed a character I was struggling to find a nice model for my RPG group :)

Kimberly

I can really tell you took my feedback from that survey to heart, I really appreciate that! I love the character choices here, you've done a wonderful job. Really looking forward to the finished projects!

Antti Mikko Autio

Love them both! 🤩 So happy to be back after a short hiatus. Your work is just too good to miss.

Boris

Maybe more realistic breasts for red Sonja. They seem to defy gravity when looking from the side

Joseph Mclean

I love the faerie queen but her current arm pose makes her look stilted.

Rob Evans

Awesome

Okay, I'll make the appropriate adjustments as I get a better sense what her final poses will be. 👍

Thanks, I'm glad you like what I've done so far this month! 👍 Yeah, I really liked your slice of life diorama idea. 😄 If you want any particular interactive pose for the Fairy Queen, please let me know!

Sonja looking amazing already!

@3DAG Sonjas weapons look a bit...familiar. Balenight & Helwinter from your LR?

3DArtGuy

Hi, no I made these from ground up. The silhouette of the sword and axe might look similar but that's the nature of these types of weapons.

Brian Robbins

Just to be "that guy"....Red Sonja is NOT a REH character, though there is a swordwoman character named Agnes. That being said, the models are fantastic. I hope you do more from the Hyborian Age.
