Grimdark Poll Results and Final Sci Fi WIPs (Patreon)

The Grimdark poll results are in!

Wow, so it's been a really tight race this month, with a lot of suggestions getting more or less the same number of votes. These are the hardest polls to choose from although it does tell me the community wants all of them. 😅

But before I get into that, I'd like to show the final WIPs for this Sci Fi Month. High resolution turntables here. For Paul, I settled on three poses that I really liked. One is the knife salute and the "Long Live The Fighters" rally cry when he's addressing the Fremen. And the final one is the knife pose he busts out when fighting against Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen. "May thy knife chip and shatter." 🥶

Coincidentally enough, Eva-01 also gets a knife pose since that does seem to be it's most common go to weapon during the anime battles. But the suggestion for it this month was specifically when Eva 01 gets absolutely psychotic, most notably against Zeruel. That battle got uh, really disturbing as the diorama shows.

And finally, this month's bonus character is for a community member who has been very helpful throughout the years. I can honestly say without this person, I couldn't keep this patreon going. And the community member is a big fan of Brutal Legend and protagonist Eddie Riggs so I thought I'd do something nice for said community member. Thanks buddy, you're the best! 👍

Okay, onto the poll results. So next month, I think realistically I can only do proxies for Corax, Sigismund and Vect. Vect will probably the most time consuming of all as he's not really just one suggestion but several combined into one unit.

So what does that mean for all the runner ups? Well, in my opinion, it's probably pointless to put them into another poll because the results have been pretty clear and consistent through multiple votes. So my proposal is this. Spread them month by month into some appropriate slot (don't know which yet) and get them done while delaying the Grimdark polls on the Imperium/Chaos side. Xenos polls will continue as as normal. I feel like that's the fairest way to disseminate the runner ups but if community members have alternate suggestions, I'm willing to consider them.

And breaking with monthly tradition, I'll reveal that June's bonus Grimdark character will be Alizabeth Bequin. I feel like she's been in the polls for ages, always sort of middling popularity but never reaching the top spot. But as I've said couple times now, Primarchs/Space Marines will always dominate polls. So I think it's time I start proactively choosing other characters that deserve more attention.

And finally, community members have been requesting that I give Shadowsun a more T'au like face. I will do that but it won't be shown publicly anywhere. Just expect it in the monthly rotation. So here's what will be included in June's release.
