I hate to break bad news but next month I won't have the time to do a What If?. For the last six months, I've been bending backwards getting these things out. They're basically Power Vacuum: Overtime edition and it eats pretty much all of my free time. However, I'm looking to move out of state soon and between looking at houses hundreds of miles away and settling matters at home, I'm anticipating close to zero free time in March. The big issue here is that work for an April What If? would occur close to the homestretch for the next chapter's release as I 'm aiming for a May launch. So, I've decided to suspend the What Ifs? until the release of Chapter 10.

In the future, I plan on retooling how the What Ifs? work. The current schedule of ten days for suggestions, ten for voting, and ten for creating puts a lot of needless pressure on me. I'll definitely be shortening the first two phases to give myself more time for the creation phase. If you have any ideas on how to improve the What Ifs? or the process, please share in the comments.

Totally get it, no worries bud

Tony

No worries no need to overwork or push yourself! Maybe have the ideas go for 3 to 5 days then the actual voting last another 3 to 5? Should be plenty of time if you ask me anyways.

Mastro91

Suggestions: 3 days Voting: 5 Days Creating: Your decision imo Totally get it, no need to stress at all.

A well-deserved break. Go play Elden Ring or something.

I completely understand, and I agree with Mastro on his suggestion. I also think limit it to 1 suggestion each.

I’ve never done the What Ifs. Are they a separate download? What are they. Are they worth it? Just wanted to know from the fans here

mario

only 1 suggestion for person 3 day proposal 3 day voting. so you can have 24/25 day to work

Shiyuan

All good, I personally care more about the base game's chapters than the What If's, they should never end up taking up development time from the actual game, so I'm with you.

Merp

They are non-canon smut centric episodes that show a few scenes of something that could have happened, but did not. The first one was basically a bad end (to the point of Helper actually saying that but then being overruled by editorial fiat) that went on longer.

Merp

This seems like the most reasonable option.

You could do canonical side content if it doesn't diminish your drive to work on the main story. In theater they're asides. TV and movies just change the scene since there's not usually one POV character. Then you don't have to spend all that time distilling the suggestions. If the suggestions are what you're after, so you can have some bonkers alternate reality fun, then by all means just shorten the time to 3 days each or so. We should be getting email notifications of your posts, 3 days is plenty to make suggestions and click a heart. Even if it is only a suggest/voting phase and a work phase, a scheduled post/email that says "Reminder, friday is the last day for votes" should be easy enough to dash off. You're putting a lot of work and time into this and we love you for it, so pick whatever makes you feel inspired and energetic about working on it. I know working within Power Vacuum saves you a lot of time with assets and settings, but we'd read pretty much anything you wrote, even if it was an episode of Scrubs set at "Big Dick Hospital" that all these VN protagonists end up at. Good luck with the move! Drink plenty of water and lift with your legs.

damn i subbed cus i thought the break from what ifs was going to be on break because voices were heard, permanent break would be preferable but guess i dont have the money to make up for the loss that would come with going against the ever powerful Will Smith on july 2020, on jah

Chasenspacen

I'd be more into getting more of the main story, honestly. None of the what ifs had appealed to me at all, but it's your game I'll continue to support as I have money to.

Serrated

I've seen a lot of posts where creators end up with some type of burnout, and then just quit. Creating this kind of content takes time. A lot of time. And if you end up with no free time to decompress, you will end up burning out completely too. As much as I do enjoy the What If's? I wouldn't blame you for cutting them out entirely. But if you still want to keep doing them, maybe you should just cut them back to three or four a year.

Maybe don't put a date no the next What If? and just allow votes to find the winner, then know that will be the next when it can arrive, as one thought. Even new supporters coming in will see that a pending What If? has already been chosen, but that they will get the chance to vote on the next when it's time in the cycle.

Twisted Mystery

Honestly voting and suggestions are done by Day 3 to 5. So probably just having suggestions and voting open for 5 days each won't be that bad. Also, try limiting each person to 1 suggestion. Honestly there are still to many suggestions to read through and we have like 20 usually on day one by 10 people. Last thing I would be recommend is try giving us a theme, so not everything is repetitive or non-usable.

Twisted Mystery

So in points: #1 Limit the Suggestion and Voting periods to 5 days each. #2 Limit each person to 1 suggestion each. #3 [Optional] Start using themes if things are getting stale.

Yeah. Shorter time to finalize the context of what if......take a little more time to actually creating it. Also, you doing amazing work....we appreciate love all of it.... thanks

lemonarchistemoderne

Eh, after that last one... I can't recall ever being bothered by NTF stuff before, but you've created a grotesque to rival Grendel himself with Hunter. I'm going to have nightmares. Christ, that thing looks downright leprous... (note: please read "leprous" as italicized, and the rest as a backhanded compliment).

I just avoid the NTR what ifs anyway. #3 was great though. Wish it was longer.

The what ifs aren't bad when they aren't just hunter/Breanna all the time. But I think shorten the time for voting for the what ifs and/or maybe release them less frequently than once a month. Dedicate more time to the game

deadbob

I dont mind the What Ifs but prefer the Main Game...But in the end it is your project and I really do like the game. Good luck on the move, have done that to many times.

I, for one couldn't give less of a shit for the what if content unless it involves hunter bleeding to death after eating his own dick. The main story is more than enough to keep me subscribing. Everything else is an unwelcome distraction.
