Whenever it rains - Production process (Patreon)

Hey everyone, now that the pages are all done I wanted to discuss a bit how I planned to tackle this comic! As you may know, this was the first time doing a project of this size and in this medium, so I had to learn a bunch stuff including organizing my process.
I initially did the thumbnails I posted above, after writing my script with the major story beats!
I admit I made the dialogue as I worked the pages. If I obsessed too much over structure I think that would make me feel pressured!! I let things flow, changing and doing things as I went along.
One of my greatest challenges was the last pages, so I took one day to chill in my couch while thinking what I was going to write. It was raining too!
One thing in this project that is silly, is that in a bunch of important work days such as writing the script and doing thumbnails, it was raining. I prayed to it for good luck and strength every time it happened!!!
Ok, so here's how I tackled doing the pages: I worked in batches of four. So I did the cycle of sketch over thumbnails, lineart, flats and rendering six times. In the future I think I can work with 3. It takes a lot of energy!! I usually took 3 to 4 days to complete a cycle. When they get all done, I posted here in intervals of 2 days, as to not spam you all!
Also some trivia! The rain drops in the comic were made by me, and they are in the back of the script. I did them and then took a pic of it, applying a pixelated filter to make it talk better with my style.
Another thing I did was Ikazuchi's hoodie design! "chiku chiku" is the onomatopoeia for something prickly in japanese. One of his motifs is a hedgehog, so I wanted to play with that! I wanted to make something with Y2K aesthetics. Maybe I can do something over redbubble with this??
Now for the post production, I think I'll let this project be patreon only for the upcoming month. From then on I plan to sell it on itch.io, under a "pay what you want" type of download! The concept art and sketch/ lineart for the pages in most part will only be available on patreon, even with a free pay-what-you-want download. I think this modality will be important because even though I put much much work on this, I'm not established AT ALL with this medium, so it'll help giving me reach. I'm open to suggestions on it though!
So many things on this project are new to me, and self publishing is one of those!! So challenging, I wish it was only drawing lol!!
