As you noted at the end of the first episode, the Anime goes kind of fast; at least compared to the manga. The manga went for 16 volumes, which the anime crammed into 13 episodes. So they definitely shaved some parts and even omitted whole arcs. Personally, I feel it is enjoyed best as a companion to the manga; viewed as an animating of the "best hits" from the manga. That said, it's still a solid viewing on its own. Hope you do read the manga, whether it be before or after, especially if you enjoy the anime.

With most of the manga I’ve finished (which are almost all slice of life/romance 😋) I end up reading the manga after watching the anime so I’m sure this will be no exception xx
