Markus

Makes my day so much better watching your reactions

Anonymous

AGREE. once you get caught up to where the anime is, you should continue reading until you catch up to the manga.

animaechan

these episodes were so much fun! Especially 355 & 357! I hope you enjoy the videos as much as I enjoyed the episodes xx

Perona made the "Eneru epic-face", this is a face a devil fruit user make when he meet his natural enemy ! I'm sad because you already see the inconstancy in One Piece, I started to notice it only on the next arc (and 2 arc later I stopped watching anime to become an only-manga reader because I didn't enjoyed it anymore.)

Jcw490

Yes for sure catch up to the manga IMO. It’s too good and while it hurts each week being a weekly manga reader I couldn’t imagine knowing I’m a year behind for years

Christian

Hogward have to shut up, thats what she mean with "to learn from bearsy"

animaechan

It will only make the great moments shine more imo <3 I guess it's inevitable with an anime that airs every week for 20 years owo

MossHead_3

“Sanji will be useless here against Perona” 1 min later: Everyone beside Ussop was useless 🤣

animaechan

lol but they were useless bc of her power. Sanji would've been useless regardless :P

Javier Enrique

KAYLA GAMBAREEEEE!!!!!! ♥️♥️🙂

Instead of "Okay, hello hello hello" I still think you should start all videos in this arc with "Okay, HOLO HOLO HOLO HOLO"

I personally don't want you to read the manga after catching up with the Anime. The word 'reaction' (for me) implies, that the content you are watching is new to you. Some would argue that there is a slight difference between the manga and the anime, but overall its the same story. I find it way more exciting if i knew you don't know the story. But in the end its up to you... i agree that it can be very hard to wait for new anime episodes, knowing there is more story available. I know i could just watch you read the manga then, but for me it's not the same... i don't like mangas in general (don't kill me for that xD). I aknowledge it's my own fault then. Just note this little fact: Your name is Animaechan after all :)

animaechan

Lol guess I’ll have to change it to mangachan when the time comes then :p jk!! Anime is what got me into manga after all. But jokes aside, I’m just curious what about the word “reaction” implies that one hasn’t read the manga? Seeing the episode, seeing the story come to life for the first time, is still a reaction. Commenting on the adaption and expectations VS reality (how they brought it to life), changes etc would imo still make a fun to watch reaction, plus it’d add way more to the review portion (which has always been the focus of my videos). I just want to emphasize I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on this, I asked for it after all and you did so in a great way 💜 (lots of people end up being rude and just say things like “that’s suck you shouldn’t do that”). So just once again thank you 😊 I was just wondering if maybe you’d give more thoughts once you hear the “potential” for reactions from a person who has read the manga. (Ofc this is like 2 years away so no need to worry about it happening any time soon)

Episode 355. Because you're learning Japanese, just letting you know..... Zoro said ''Shigeki" not ''Shingeki'' ''Shigeki'' means "stimulation" or ''stimulus'' or "irritation" like in '' Stop stimulating his anger ''(don't make him angrier) Also the "Shingeki" part in the tittles AOT and ROB have the same Kanji for ''geki" but a different one for ''shin'' That's why the meaning is different. You always have to keep in mind when looking at romanized titles that even if it's the same word... The meaning in Kanji can be completly different (i think you already understood that) Japanses language has a lot of homophones. Very complicated language but so much interesting :))

If I could plot the animation quality of the entire series on a line graph, with the x axis as the total runtime of the entire show so far each episode back to back and the y axis as the animation quality (subjective, to be sure, but there's enough consensus on this)... I think if we zoom in granularly to a particular episode, there may be lots of ups and downs and inconsistencies, but if we zoom out for the bigger picture, I would say that the animation quality is overall on the rise.

Cayseron

yes finally. perona devil fruit power is one my favorite devil fruits. i wouldnt say i like the whole DF itself but the mentality behind how the ghosts work. basically the way i see it and understand ghosts effect of "negativity" is definition of "The Higher They Rise, The Harder They Fall". basically stronger, prouder, more ambitious, more confident... whatever it is that make someone feel better of themselves, be that their power or strentgh, confidence or pride, more they have it more effective the ghosts are against them. that is why zoro sanji luffy and even "SUUUUUUUPER" franky dont stand a chance against it because they see themselves so up and set their goals so high and train every day in order to achieve those goals and that is why once they get hit by negativity the fall is that much greater. meanwhile usopp was underdog his whole life. his journey is not one of setting high goals and being stronger than everyone. he does not have self-confidence or much to be proud of (not saying nothing, but it isnt much either) usopp is always the "on the ground" type a guy who knows his limits and is not afraid to show his weakness but in spite of that all he goes out and wants to become the "brave warrior of the sea". and for someone who is already on the ground his whole life, someone who set up a personal goal, aka wanting to prove to himself he is brave warrior of the sea and not prove to the world they are the best of the best etc... or accomplish something noone did before, "negativity" obviously wont have any effects cause there is no "drop" value at all.

about the whole reading the manga after you catch up with the anime thing: i absolutely LOVE the idea, hope most people feel the same so you actually do things this way. anime watchers get spoiled all the time so i really do believe that this is the smartest decision for sure. also manga reactions (for the first time) are just as interesting in my opinion, so yeah

Daniel Burgmann

I'd be very sad if you read the manga ahead of the anime, because that'd be the point where i'll stop watching your One Piece reactions, and i love to watch them. I can only speak for myself, but the very reason why i watch reactions is to see what the reactor's experience is when they see the story and characters with their quirks for the first time. That would be completely gone if the reactor already knew what happens and knew about the characters. For that very reason people like me don't want you to get spoiled: It has a major impact on your reactions. Imagine having known the Laboon and Brook relation beforehand - your delightful reaction to that would have never happened. The reaction of a manga reader is not much different than the reaction to someone who watches an anime for the second time (maybe in a higher resolution or a remastered version). And only having the animations, voices and "fillers" to react to is not really interesting imo. Of course, i can see why you want to do it. Spoilers would not only ruin your reaction, but also your enjoyment, thus you want to minimize spoilers to yourself as much as possible by reading the story in the manga ahead of the anime. It might be better for your personal enjoyment, but being a reactor, you might to consider how much of your reactions you are going to sacrifice for that. Anyways, i enjoy your reactions for the time being, and it will still be a bit until you cought up with the manga, so i still have a lot to enjoy until that. And maybe you'll change your mind and i can continue to enjoy your reactions and theories until the very end. But if you do decide to read ahead after catching up, i will have no regrets and i will have had a wonderful time with your reactions up to that point!

Well the animation now its not only top tier but its consistent too. We have the corona thing now and in order to not lower the quality they restarted the arc we are watching now. The restart is more than 36 episodes i think. So about the manga thing you said, because Oda didn't stop the manga but the anime stopped, i believe if something doesn't change the manga is going to be more than 1 and a half year ahead. So i agree about reading the manga. I am not reading it right now, but i am spoiled in many ways.

Jay

I wouldn’t mind if after catching up on the anime you went ahead with the manga. However I think that most people including myself don’t really find watching people who have already read the manga react to anime all that appealing.

I´m pretty sure the one animating the PeronaxUsopp 20 seconds is Yoshikazu Tomita, I think he starts animating scenes at the end of Enies Lobby and continues to this day. His character art is fairly recognizable with the shadows and "mecha-like" action scenes, loves doing the transformation animations. To be fair I think the opinion of his work among the fans is divided, some like it but many others don´t.

SomeoneElse

Bruuuuuuuh every time I hear stories about these super fans of characters it just blows my mind. Sanji is a lil bitch sometimes fkn deal wid it yooo

SomeoneElse

The animation in the latest arcs of OP is amazing. From where you are now till quite a bit later tho, they sorta started bringing in talented animators for select scenes. Usually hype moments and stuff you'll start seeing extra good animation. That one Perona scene was odd, not sure why they chose that but hey, I'll take it! It looked really nice. Hope you don't consider this a spoiler. If you're a mod and you think it is, delete it :)

SomeoneElse

Franky's line about feeling less pain when theres more tension is actually true tho! Shonen takes it to a whole new level lol but if your body is filled with adrenaline I believe you feel less pain Hold on... "The body's ability to feel pain also decreases as a result of adrenaline, which is why you can continue running from or fighting danger even when injured. Adrenaline causes a noticeable increase in strength and performance, as well as heightened awareness, in stressful times" Shonen anime should just be called Adrenaline anime foreal

At the beginning of the opening CHOPPER is petting ZORO

Mario Caleb Chaparro Hernández

something worth noting is, this time Sanji is fighting the number 2 guy, while Zoro is fighting one of their subordinates. Just a little change in the usual dynamics of Zoro fighting number 2 guy and Sanji fighting number 3

dannydarko27

I see what you mean, but she also does manga read alongs. Once she catches up, the manga read alongs will be manga reactions. Therefore we'll still be able to see fresh reactions to OP lol

Anonymous

The boost in animation is mainly due to the add of shadows on the faces (and obviously other details) which is ironic 'cause luffy zoro sanji and brook don't have one anymore

Anonymous

The animation quality is one off the reasons why i became a manga only reader for a while. without any spoilers there will be more art changes throughout the whole anime, but the good thing is the highlight moments are always super well animated. And the current season even has the best art style ever in my opinion, cause its so close to the actual look of the manga. So look forward to that =D

Anonymous

haha i feel the same way as you in EP 357 it look so good

sotossss-nya

Amazing reactions as always I really enjoyed it and laugh so much with your expressions end your reactions!!!I love that you always noticing the art changes and the style!! Thanks you for the great reaction💖💖

Anonymous

It depends on who u think is stronger between Absalom and Ryuma. Ryuma is technically a subordinate coz Absalom was with Moria before Ryuma was brought back as a zombie and was in charge of all them. That doesn't mean he's stronger than all the General Zombies Moria creates especially including those with strong shadows like Zoro's or Sanji's(and ofcourse Luffy's).

I think you don't really have to worry about the manga/anime stuff. If you're reading 5 chapters a week, it'll take almost 4 years to just be at chapter 982, and since you already started, it'll take i guess 3 years for you just to catch at where we are now ahah

Juan Re

I think you should switch to the manga once the pacing of the show becomes slower. Eventually you will notice the difference, there was a point in the anime that episodes would only have 12 mins of new content. I don't know if this is still the case. It wasn't fun at all.

Anonymous

Yeah the animation is pretty good

animaechan

It is something I need to think about now because I can adjust my current pace to fit what I want to do in 2 years

RiShinMarco

I can only speak for me but after I started reading the manga (the manga was at the time around 460 or something like that). I didn't enjoy the anime anymore. And my experience got worse in the following years. I complained about things I didn't care for in the past even through they did happen there as well. It got to a point where I only watched key moments or parts of the anime. Till I didn't watch the new episode every week at all. And I just watched the new episode with a 10 min cut up reaction from different reactors.

Anonymous

love the idea of you reading the manga when you catch up. it would be so fun to actually have your live reactions to the chapters. and the manga will always be the superior version of one piece. still love the anime tho!

Eric

I’m late to the party, but i highly recommend reading the manga when you catchup. I was anime only up until episodes in the 900s. I couldn’t stand waiting each week so i started the manga and my God what a journey I’m having. The best thing about it is that it’s actually made me enjoy the anime episodes even more even tho0ugh i know whats gonna happen. Knowing whats already going to happen while watching weekly episodes makes up for how dragged the anime episodes can be and you will only heighten you excitement for one piece. Highly recommend xx
