Hanamonogatari is actually part of the second season but they had 26 episodes I guess so I guess they couldnt fit it in so they made and aired that afterward. Its still part of the second season though.

hehe your opinions towards senjoughara is the same as i feel towards hanakewa towards the majority of kizu+neko. like “i don’t get this girl, why does araragi obsess over her so much”. But i think that’s what makes monogatari so great because all the characters are self inserts to some degree so there’s something for everyone. I relate to hitagi and nadeko so much aHHh i would die for my children. also i never actually though kaki was currently in love with her, just thought he viewed her as a regretful part of his life. Great video as always + always great to hear your options. and i’m sad this arc is over:((((

This final arc here is my favourite in the show so far. I really love Kaiki. I don’t have time to watch the reactions right now, but I’ll probably get around to them tomorrow.

This is my favourite arc of Monogatari so far and I love how much we got to know more of Kaiki, Hitagi and Nadeko. Though I didn't ever get the impression that Kaiki is in love with Hitagi at that point or ever was for that matter, I think he just cared for her more than he lead on in Nisemonogatari (and I won't try to explain more because you asked not to).

what an amazing resolution. i forgot that this was all resolved with a really interesting rejection of the "harem" premise that monogatari operates under. of course the whole time it was pretty subversive to the harem genre but i love the way kaiki dismantles it with reason.

Azazelop

Also, as a few other people have been saying. I never really interpreted his feelings towards Senjougahara as love. I do think he cares for her a lot, but I didn’t see it as romantic feelings. But that whole discussion you had is pretty much how I feel. One of the biggest things I hate in anime is seeing a characters being in love for seemingly no reason. I get that “love is illogical”, but most people still have reasons for loving someone. In most harem anime, the girls are literally just in love with the guy because he hangs out with them.

In general, the god of manga in Japan is Osamu Tezuka.

This is peak Monogatari for me and episode 26 of Second Season probably is my favorite episode of all anime, it is so good, there is not a single line in the dialogue that feels unnecessary. And I absolutely love the chemistry between Hitagi and Kaiki, their humour is pretty similar and unique. They keep being sarcastic back and forth until one of them is ashamed, it is like their thing. For example when they first met at the airport Hitagi wore some weird looking glasses and Kaiki a Hawaiian shirt, then when Hitagi chuckled Kaiki thought: "I won". It is as if Kaiki is the only character who can give Hitagi a fight. Also, I don't think Kaiki is in love with her, it definitely sounds like he was, in the past but not anymore, he hates when something becomes irreplaceable after all. However, something that is never answered is if Kaiki and Hitagi were an actual couple or not and I think that is interesting because some times it is brought up but then denied. It fits perfectly well with the narrative because Kaiki is always lying, you can't trust his words and he constantly goes out of his way to tell the viewer that. I'm pretty sure at this point Kaiki doesn't even know what are his lies or truths anymore. Of course in my headcanon they were a couple, my theory is that Kaiki was going to scam Hitagi's family but when they met they instantly clicked. It has happened to me before so I don't think it is overthinking it. And I absolutely adore Nadeko, not only she is a perverted weeb, she is also the most real character of the cast. She has real mundane struggles, she is a timid child that just wants to become a mangaka but is afraid of doing so because of the pressure she feels from the school and the Japanese society as a whole. It is amazing how Nisio Issin can make suck an incredible story from something so simple like wanting to draw manga. Also, it is painfully obvious how much Nadeko exposes herself. Araragi always says: "Why are you making such an obscure manga reference!?" Nisio Issin is an amazing writer, he was able to transform a comedic relief dialogue into a very important thing for the next season. Sasuga, Nisio Issin. I love weeb Nadeko. By the way, back when your first reacted to Nadeko's opening "Renai Circulation" you predicted Nadeko was a mangaka. A lot of people thought she was doing her homework. I wonder if it was also obvious for japanese people since they know more about their own manga culture. I have a question, you said a couple of times that you had different expectations about the finale, so what were you expecting? I personally don't remember what were my expectations when I watched this for the first time. As always incredible reactions and reviews.

So true, he is like "What's wrong with you? why do you love so much a person you have barely talked to?"
