To tide you all over for the full Exclusives for this month, here is a couple of WIPs and doodles I've done over the past few months. I will admit, it's possible I posted one or two of these before already, so forgive me if that's the case!

1) Alter is coming out next, as the first Exclusive for this month, so you can see what her lineart looks like here. c:

2, 3) These are some anatomy studies I did, specifically for the muscles of the inner thigh, and the torso, respectively. When drawing sexy poses with spread legs, it can be tempting to just draw two plump cylindrical shapes, and call those legs, but you can often tell in the finished product when it's been fudged. Even for lady characters who tend to have a lot more fatty tissue in their thighs, which hide a lot of the musculature, that underlying musculature still ends up coming through in the subtle silhouette of the thigh. So while most of my drawings don't have extremely muscular women with sharp, defined builds, accurate anatomy really does inform things at the end of the day, and is always worth the time to study.

4) Catalyst from Apex Legends -- I did Catalyst a few months back, and this was my first pass for that, before reworking the concept entirely into something a lot spicier. Seeing as how I did most of the lineart, I might revisit it again and complete it.

5, 6, 7) Magical fantasy character designs. These aren't really my standard fare, as I'm more of a sci-fi fantasy enjoyer, but it was interesting to tackle something a little different with these. I had two main ideas: first, I wanted a barbarian-type character, with an imposing stature and a Viking warrior-esque hairstyle. I wanted to give her a unique weapon, so instead of a basic longsword or whatever, I went with a massive Aztec macuahuitl. I loved the idea of a weapon that would pretty much be impossible for anyone but the strongest to wield -- something that would likely shatter its opponents before cutting them. Leaning into the Aztec angle, I also wanted to give her a bit of a magical inclination, just to elevate her beyond "big woman, with big stick", so I tried designing her with Tlaloc in mind -- an Aztec god with powers over rain, water, and lightning. I did a couple of passes on a ceremonial battle mask/helm, with feathers and tusks often seen in depictions of Tlaloc, but I didn't settle on anything.
Number 7 was in the same design space -- a fantasy character, but this one was more straightforward witch. I wanted her to look kind of grubby and disheveled, while at the same time bearing a regal elegance. The idea was that her stave was crafted in part from the horn or claw of a dragon, and through that she was able to channel the magic inherent in said beasts. Witches were often skilled in alchemy and potions, hence the little pouch on the back, which would hold an assortment of vials and concoctions. The blackened hands and feet are not an uncommon trope with dark magic users in fictional media, with the idea of such magic "corrupting" the user and leaving a physical, staining mark. The overall aesthetic needed to clash in a way: the beautiful, barefoot maiden is a common trope of purity and innocence, while the grungy, disheveled old hag is a physical manifestation of evil and cruelty. Mixing those two just seemed right.

8) Finally, some Erin head shots! For my own edification, I wanted to lock down what this OC of mine looked like in her most current iteration. In the context of her lore, she's a fiercely independent, almost anarchistic individual, on a mission of revenge. She is former military turned vigilante/mercenary, so those two sides of her are somewhat reflected in her asymmetric style: on the one hand, she keeps her hair grown out and free, while on the other, she can't help but fall back on the certainty and simplicity of a buzzcut.
I've had Erin and some of my other OCs around for quite a long time, and they have some reasonably-detailed backgrounds -- they were not designed from the ground-up for pinup art, which actually makes it more enjoyable for me to draw them in cute, sexy poses and such. c:
