Character Q&A — Question #28 (Patreon)

Question for Nate: “Are there myths/legends about the 1st natural vampire, or other supernatural kinds, arriving to this realm: how they got here, or how they lived? Have any notables made a significant impact on human history without awareness of their supernatural origin?”

He glances up in thought while pursing his lips. “What an interesting set of questions.”

“Ugh. He’s gonna go all history teacher on us,” Farah replies with a huff of breath, resting her head on the back of the chair. “Wake me when he’s done.”

Morgan chuckles.

“Just because you have no interest in this subject doesn’t mean many don’t, as made evident by the question,” Nate replies with a small frown.

“Uh huh…” Farah then lets out a faux snore.

Nate shakes his head. “There are many rumours that circulate through the Agency about the first supernaturals to cross through the portals. Many speculate that it’s where some of the myths of our time started. Some of the Greek legends, for example. Or tales of miracles that sound fantasy.” 

Enthusiasm gleams in his warm brown eyes as he continues to speak. “But there is nothing confirmed. One of the Agency’s facility’s does have a dedicated research team to such a task. Though unfortunately I doubt they will find much. The supernaturals who first breached the portals into our world likely came through millennia before the Agency was founded. I would be most happy to travel to the facility with you to discover more—”

Adam clears his throat to catch Nate’s attention.

“I mean, when we have time, of course. Our priority for now is Wayhaven,” Nate corrects with a sheepish smile, obviously trying to rein in his excitement.
