Idk if you were able to tell but what he recovered here is the nervous system. Remember Dororo asking asking if "that doesn't hurt?" when Hyakimaru was piercerd before slashing the demon's eyes? well he didn't even stop becasue he had no noervous system working. He could feel no pain nor anything else through his body. You will notice Hyakimaru getting kinda weaker while making progress on his quest... sort of.. this anime is a thinker for sure.
