HF Patch for HS2 v2.6 (mods up to 2024/01/15) (Patreon)

An unofficial patch for HoneySelect2 that installs the latest fan-made English translations and essential mods. It also fixes many common issues with the game. It will allow you to load all character cards and scenes and give you countless content creation and gameplay improvements.

Read the full HF Patch manual to learn more about what it is, what it does, how to use it, and how to solve common issues.

HF Patch does not contain the full game, paid expansions or any other pirated content. You have to buy the game and expansions separately. You can buy the game with all expansions on Steam.

The base game (Honey Select 2), and by extension this patch are not suitable for minors. If you are under 18 years old you can not use this patch. The base game and this patch contain only characters of age 18 or higher. The creator of this patch is not responsible for creations of its users and prohibits any unlawful use of this software.

Downloads

This download contains the entire HF Patch and can be used offline. You can use qBittorrent or a similar torrent client to open the magnet link. Old patch versions are available in direct download links.

Full patch (Everything is included, most people should use this)

Light patch (Smaller size, only use if you regularly update with KKManager or never download character cards)

Read before installing

  • If you want to install the DX update, do it before installing HF Patch (DX is already included in the Steam version).
  • Steam only: only Japanese and English localizations are fully supported at the moment, if you play in Chinese then translations will become worse after installing the patch.
  • Steam only: do not install special patch or update on Steam after installing HF Patch! The patch makes the game compatible with original jp updates (for studio and mod support) but that means it's no longer compatible with updates specific to the Steam version. If Steam auto updates the game, you will have to install HF Patch again to fix it.
  • If you need any help, check the wiki, visit the Illusion Soft Discord server and ask in the #hs2-help channel, or ask in comments under this post. The #hs2-help channel is the fastest way to get help, you can even search it for your issue to see if someone already answered it. There are also chat and card sharing channels on the server!
  • To keep the download size reasonable, some of the less used mods are not included (mostly studio-only mods). To download them you can use the KKManager mod updater - run it at the end of HF Patch or from the game's launcher.

Not gonna lie, This patch had a lot more in it then I thought! Great work Marco! The install went relatively smoothly after getting everything downloaded. I did have to deal with mediafire's nasty quirk of putting the files into a .zip file when you try and download everything at once. Solved this by downloading everything one by one so easy fix. but still a very easy install!

Hello, I meet pb of hashs at the installation (source mediafire). Has anyone ever had this kind of problem? PS: recently I put all my content +18 in a veracrypt file. Do you think that may be the cause? I drop back again by storing on a standard HD and it works. What do you think ? Otherwise congratulations for the work provided :)

So I have done this before with Koikatsu on the Steam Deck. Runs fine and everything. With this though, I decided to go with PC since it's way easier to do so. It is a brand new PC so I don't want to fiddle with things too much. However, Windows is preventing me from running the .exe file that you get when you download and extract the zip files. How do I go about preventing Windows from blocking the installer from booting up? I'm guessing but maybe run with administrator privileges? Will that even work?

The patch doesn't come with any VR mod, only the official VR module. You have to have the official VR installed before installing the patch for it to work. If you used a VR mod then you'll have to install it again after using the patch.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but is there a way to optimize graphics with graphics mod. I run a pretty good, not great laptop and have some trouble with fps. I’ve read that disabling graphics mod helps but that has issues with some of the other mod skins and so forth. Just hoping to get best performance while minimizing hit to graphics? Thanks

Try rebooting your computer and installing the patch again with default settings (English language). If that doesn't help, try moving the game to a different directory like "D:\HS2".

Hello Marco. I have installed HS2 & this HF patch, and I'm noticing the English translations in the dialogs when the ladies are speaking are so horrible, that I cannot even understand what they are trying to communicate... Thus, I'm wondering if the patch may not have installed correctly, or if the dialog is just that bad. E.g. "By the way, what are you? Do you have anything to think about?" Game options then pop up: "Give Affectionate/Optimistic/Sadistic reply". "Optimistic Reply" is chosen and she says, "That's right... I'm not the same as me..." ??? As you can see, the dialog is not even trackable; it makes no sense. Is this normal for HS2? Thanks.

There are no official translations, it's almost all machine translated as far as dialog goes, so this is normal. Fan translations cover only UI and small parts of dialogue. I'll include better machine translations that should make more sense in the next version of the patch. I'll post just the improved translation on patreon later.

Make sure it's turned on in bottom right menu. Make sure it's enabled when installing the patch also.

Make sure the game path doesn't have any non-English letters in it. Try moving it to somewhere like D:\HS2\

Hey man appreciate the stuff you do here Just having an issue so my copy came from fakku which was just a ZIP file which was then extracted. I've installed the DLC as well and when i try to install the patch and direct to the folder with all the game files it says it cannot locate the files. Any advice you can give me would be great thanks.

You most likely extracted something to the wrong folder, the abdata folders of the game and all DLC should end up in the root directory. The patch also needs to be pointed to this directory.

Hello! What battle screen are you referring to? What do you mean by feet not moving completely when moving to other places? As far as I know there's no way to actually walk around in HS2

This should have been fixed by a recent version of HF Patch. If you updated your sideloader modpacks recently there might be something in them that causes it, or one of your plugins might be causing it. I suggest sending your output_log.txt in the help channel on the discord server.

To install the patch you need both the exe and all bins in a single folder. Afterwards you can delete them.

When I made a desktop shortcut it changed the name of the patch so it was shearching for bin(1)-1 instead of 1-1

Hello, I broght HS2 on Steam. I downlaod the HF Patch. When I tried to install it in the game folder, it says this patch is inside of the game directory, and I tried move the patch files to a folder like "D:\HFP", it says "HS2 were not found ", how to solve this? thanks

Put the patch files anywhere other than the game directory, like in your downloads folder. When the patch runs you have to point it to where the game is installed to.

Hello, you don't need to install the secret patch if you install HF Patch. Don't install any official updates for steam ver after the patch, they can break the game install.

So, is there any way to make the download quicker? I am a subscriber, I use a VPN, but the KKManager Update is still just downloading in KB, mostly 50-500. Doesn't matter what time of day it is, left it overnight to download 150gb and 14 hours later it's still just 4,5%

Sorry, I've seen you say this to others as well, but what do you mean? Is the link to this somewhere in this specific post? When I start up the game via Steam, the box with a picture of Fur pops up, and I can start the game regular or in VR, and on the bottom left there's links to Patreon and Discord. I press Update, and this is what I'm talking about. Are you saying I should download a different patch? I can't exactly change the updater

Did the cards work before installing the patch? Make sure you download the full unaltered card files, many websites will remove the character data when showing the image. Try dragging the cards into the game window while in maker and see if there's any error on screen.

Agreed, I had to start and restart the download, seems it becomes slower the longer I leave it on. Everyday for over a week, and still not even 20%. I gave up. Marco doesn't seem to think it's worth an answer, even though several other people are asking the same. He doesn't want our money I guess

Yes, the patch will get future updates. You don't need to update any of the studio modpacks if you don't use studio.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that's what I mainly use the game for. So I guess I have to sit though those download at some point. Would downloading them directly from their corresponding sources and installing through KKmanager circumvent the slow download of KKmanager?

KKManager uses the same servers so it'll probably be similar. In a week or so there should be an update to KKManager that should help with download speeds a fair bit so you can wait until then.

Make sure you downloaded all parts to the same directory and the file names did not get changed.
