HF Patch for KK/KKP v3.6 (mods up to 2020/12/20) (Patreon)

An unofficial patch for KK and KKP that installs the latest fan-made English translations and essential mods. It also fixes many common issues with the game.

It will allow you to load all character cards and scenes and give you countless content creation and gameplay improvements while still keeping the original, uncluttered feel of the game. All content is tested and fixed (or removed) as needed before each update, providing a stable platform for further modding.

Koikatsu can be split into two parts: character and scene creation tools (character maker and Studio), and an adventure game with story mode (it can use your custom characters, but not scenes). You can see preview videos of the game and some of the mods here.

HF Patch does not contain the full game, paid expansions or any other pirated content. You have to buy the game and expansions separately.

The base game (Koikatu / Koikatsu Party), and by extension this patch are not suitable for minors. If you are under 18 years old you can not use this patch. The base game and this patch contain only characters of age 18 or higher. The creator of this patch is not responsible for creations of its users and prohibits any unlawful use of this software.

This download contains the entire HF Patch and can be used offline. You can use qBittorrent or a similar torrent client to open the magnet link.

Read before installing

Before installing check this installation guide and FAQ.

If you need any help check the wiki first, and if that doesn't help then ask in the #help channel of the Koikatsu Discord server. The #help channel is the fastest way to get help, you can even search it for your issue to see if someone already answered it. There are also chat and card sharing channels on the server!

To keep the download size reasonable, some rarely used and very old content mods are not included. If you have trouble loading characters or scenes, you can download the missing mods by clicking on the Update button in the game's launcher.

Solutions to common issues

  • If you get a "This patch is inside of the game directory" or "Path too long" error, move the patch files to a folder like "D:\HFP\" and try again.
  • If you get a "Different game is detected" error, make sure this is the correct patch for your game. KK in the title means that this patch is for Koikatu and Koikatsu Party.
  • If after installing the patch you have issues running the game, restart your PC and try to install the patch again with default settings.
  • If after installing the patch Studio hangs when loading, start KKManager (it's in a folder in game directory) and click "Look for updates" at the top, then tell it to update the Studio modpack.
  • If you have trouble downloading by using the magnet link, try updating your torrent client or use the latest qBittorrent (it's known to work well).
  • Make sure you downloaded ALL parts to the same folder and that the parts all have the same name. You need ALL parts for the patch to work. If the installer asks you for another disc it means that your download was not extracted correctly and is missing files, or you renamed or removed some of the extracted files.
  • If you see any messages about corrupted files you'll have to re-download the offending part (or all of the parts).  If you downloaded the torrent, most torrent clients can "force recheck" the downloaded files so you don't have to re-download the whole thing.
  • If your antivirus is flagging the .exe file make sure that you've downloaded the patch by following links in this post. If you are sure the download came from the right place, it's most likely a false positive (it's a common issue with non-signed application installers).

Changelog

This update contains some new plugins for all parts of the game, as well as a major update to TL (I suggest trying Glamorous, Emotionless and Friendly personalities, on top of Sadistic added in the previous version).

I have a question, what if I don't update the mod folder by installer but do it afterward by the KKmanager? is there any different? because I have some self-made mods or collected from other sources, it will be a big trouble if the installer cleared the whole folder.

Turn off removing old zipmods when installing the patch, that's the only setting that affects old mods (if you don't turn this off they will be removed even if you don't install the modpacks). That being said, it's better to move any mods you want to keep out of mods folder when installing the patch, and move them back in after installation finishes.

noticing a weird thing where in the CC menu everyones' arms are rotated 90 degrees outward, making all poses look very wrong. any idea what that is?

Character creation? Did you install any extra plugins? Try reinstalling the patch and let it remove old plugins.

You only need the patch. Optionally you can install the paid expansion packs before installing the patch to get some extra features and personalities. AfterSchool expansion is worth getting since it adds a lot of new content.

Yes, that should be fine, the patch won't let you install to a wrong directory.

Did you watch the installation video, Yeshe? It's pretty strait forward and explains everything you need to get up and running. Scroll up to Direct Download Links and follow it. From there go down "You can watch a video walk through here." As long as you have 7zip and the base game, then you're golden.

Move the camera center point closer to the character you want to enter POV of before pressing the button. You need to enable KK_Subtitles when installing the patch (off by default). You can also install this plugin separately if you don't want to reinstall the patch. https://github.com/DeathWeasel1337/KK_Plugins/

What exactly seems to be the issue? Like Jack mentioned below, there's a video guide in the direct download post. You have to download the patch into an empty directory, then run it and follow the shown steps. If you can't get it to work it would be best to contact me on discord (fastest way), or in PMs on patreon.

I have an older version of the patch, and I have read that it should automatically update to the newest version, but mine has not. How do I go about updating it?

when i start downloading the game it stops and says theirs a error saying something about the managed folder i had a look and a thing pops up saying access denied

Only content mods like clothes or maps can be updated automatically (open launcher and click update). To update plugins / the game you have to download the latest patch and install it as normal.

hi i know people may have asked this before but i have download a pervious version of the patch two months ago so i am wondering how do i update it as i am a bit confused on what to do. do i have to download all of the the individual files on mediafire or just one and what happens to the previous files from the last update as i am trying to save space, i have the steam version

Only download the latest version of the patch and install it. You need to download all parts and the .exe file to the same folder, then run the .exe and follow instructions to install it (default settings are fine for 1st time).

They do, you might be unlucky or settings might be wrong. If after waiting a week they don't get pregnant then open them in chara edit and see if their pregnancy chance is not 0.

Update mods with kkmanager or by clicking update in game launcher. If that doesn't help then the card was likely made with private mods or mods that were not added to the modpack yet.

Are you sure you updated the modpack? Both of these are included. Open game launcher, click update, and download the Sideloader Modpack update.

Make sure you are using a patch for the correct game and that you point it to the directory with the game's main .exe file.
