Upcoming re:View (Patreon)

Jay and Josh are filming a re:View today for Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me in anticipation of the upcoming Showtime revival of the series. We'll do our best to keep our thoughts concise but trying to go over the show, the movie, and the 90 minutes (!) of deleted material from the movie, that may prove to make brevity difficult.

We decided to just make longer episodes, as opposed to chopping them down and releasing the rest as a supplement on another site.

they're most likely a beast to edit, but I'm all for 45min+ re:views, when the material encourages it with things like the depth and weirdness of Twin Peaks or the cheese of ID4

You know, I've been sitting on this Twin Peaks bluray box for months now without having a bluray player. I've seen the show on TV, but I never saw the film or that lovely deleted scenes stuff from the bluray. You're killing me, here!

Just realized we're filming this episode on the same day that Fire Walk With Me was released in US theaters in 1992! That's some weird Lynchian coincidence.

Nifty. Way underrated film, imo. And it had been years since a movie had given me physical chills and made me feel icky. Lynch can creep me out. I'm glad you're doing Twin Peaks. I'll enjoy hearing your thoughts on it. Also, brevity shmevity.

I rewatched it last night. I hadn't in about 20 years. I strongly suggest you do. Just plan to do so when your mood is uplifted because it's kind of a depressing movie, IMO. You basically see a young woman descending into a surreal inferno.

FWWM freaked out the critics, but if you like a certain kind of film (many of us do) its extremely entertaining. I like it better than the show itself.
