Hey everyone! As mentioned in the new Boomer Fight video, Mike and Rich shot a very long discussion about favorite Star Trek episodes. That one's going to take a while to edit (and maybe be split into two parts?) but we also just shot a new Half in the Bag. It will be another Quarantine Catch-up episode, focusing mostly on stuff that was released primarily to streaming in 2020 like the Hulu movies Palm Springs and Lemon (which is actually a few years old but hey, we felt like talking about it) as well as the Netflix movie Horse Girl and the Australian movie Relic. Watch them all in advance, don't watch them all in advance, whatever. We'll include spoiler warnings and timecodes to skip. This episode may be split into two parts as well, but we'll see.

Fuck yeah Relic. That movie is great for people who don’t have depression but would like to get it.

Splitting everything into two parts, to match Mike's heart?

Anonymous

totally geeking out about the Star Trek discussion!! Looking forward to it

God I hate this podcast

Mike I'm sorry that you were so sad about shatner making fun of you. You're an inspiration, and I love you

Daniel Frank

I hear y'all are having problems with William Shatner. What's up with that?

Anonymous

Loved the writing in Palm Springs. Going to catch the rest before the Half in the Bag

Anonymous

Please, please, PLEASE, do more Star Trek based stuff (TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise.)

Anonymous

Two updates in one day? Billy Shatner has got Mike shook up! Two potentially multi-part videos coming? Thank you, Captain Kirk!

Daniel E. Passaro

Sounds great. If the Star Trek episode was two parts that would be really cool. I don’t always agree with Mike or Rich’s views on some Trek things, but it’ll be nice to go down memory lane with them. I really hope they include “Deja Q”. Anyway, always excited for your new stuff.

Do Tiger King AGAIN

Thanks for the recommendation on Vast of Night. It really felt like a well-made Twilight zone episode, not just because of the time setting, but the tone. There's also a big hint in the movie about what specific property they're really paying homage to, which I found funny

I watched Boomer Fight this morning. I felt bad for Mike, at the end of the vid I'm not sure what % of him was joking about not being able to take the fact his hero is making fun of him.

Anonymous

I'll listen to anything and everything Star Trek (especially TOS and DS9) so keep it coming!

Anonymous

I’ve seen Palm Springs, relic and horse girl. Time to watch lemon, I guess.

Jay! Is your hair long enough to do a top knot yet? Quarantine summer break addition?

Anonymous

Bravo to the boomer fight vid. Editing was on point. More Twitter fights, please.

Sharon

Really keen for Star Trek!

Excited!

I'm curious to see whether either of them will talk about TNG's "Tapestry", that's one of my favorites. Also sorry about everything happening with Shatner, I hope things smooth out there. Keep up the good work you fucking hacks!

Andy Scotschdale

Oh. So there’s a viewing requirement on the next Andy Samberg movie. Love the guy. I was completely unable to view That’s my boy. But most lonely island stuff etc is gold in my eyes.

I love when the RLM guys shoot the shit.

Anonymous

Really excited to hear about Relic! It was a tough watch for sure.

Anonymous

my lifeforce right now.

Darren Pierce

I thought the RLM crowd was more GenX than Boomer.

Andre K

I feel for Mike, after pouring so much time into a Star Trek chat with Rich to have this Boomer Fight thing going down. Good thing there's always Mr. Bee Double Oh Zee E!

Anonymous

anyone older than 14 is a "boomer" on the internet, it's just how it goes

Anonymous

I hope they do a new Nerd Crew on the virtual Comic Con and being shills who have nothing to shill.

Anonymous

I'm so glad this is actually happening! I'm always down for more Trek videos from you guys. It'll help wash the taste of Twitter out of my mouth...

MeleeDuck

Its really true about meeting your heroes. I once met famous film actor Rich Evans at a video store but he just made me fluff mr maculkin.

Hey Mike; Did you ever finish watching The Expanse? They finished shooting season 5 just before the pandemic and it is the one thing I am looking forward to coming out besides The Day The Clown Cried. & Avatar 2. The show was really great. Thanks.

Anonymous

How much do they work on? are they shooting projects while editing three other things? impressive.

Anonymous

Relic was one of my most anticipated horror films of the year and it massively disappointed.

Anonymous

I look at all Star Trek talk like a funeral for friend now

Anonymous

I'm excited to see your opinions on Horse Girl! I watched that movie on a whim and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The reviews for it online are pretty lackluster though....

Anonymous

Very interested to see which episodes they discuss!

Anonymous

God damn it. I rented Relic. That’s coming out of your Patreon pay.

Anonymous

Personally, I prefer you blindside the viewers with spoilers.

Anonymous

I love that you guys spotlight lesser known movies but I just wanted to suggest you do Who Framed Roger Rabbit for a re:View. Easily one of the most underrated and technically proficient movies of the last 30 years! All the best from Ireland!

Anonymous

Wonder if Jay's bad week from a few weeks ago was a break up because that would explain watching Lemon and Palm Springs.

Anonymous

Hulu’s Palm Springs was good and it takes an unexpected twist, (if you don’t watch the trailer first!)

CarSVernon .

JFC this Shatner thing is getting out of control. I am doubting this is him but rather a whole CBS PR team behind it.

Anonymous

I suspected that there was a CBS hand involved, based on what I've seen from their astroturfing techniques on Reddit and elsewhere, but there's a new Medium article about this written by "Shatner". Saw someone claim in the comments that Shatner's Twitter/et al is actually run by a guy named Paul Camuso. I've long said Shatner's Twitter is definitely run by a millenial, and it turns out other articles authored by this Medium account are "coauthored" by "Shatner" and Camuso. So I googled him, and several recent articles about Shatner in mainstream publications list Camuso as his assistant, so there's definite proof these two are connected. The writing style on Camuso's Twitter is pretty similar to "Shatner's" Twitter and the articles. I'd bet good money this is all the assistant's doing, and that Shatner has never heard of RLM and has no idea about any of this.

Gar Kelleher

I know it might ruin it but is it possible to post the list of the fav Star Trek episodes so we can have them rewatched before the reviews are up?

Anonymous

Editing only takes like 5 minutes, I've done holiday videos before. Cmon, part 2 already.
