Best of the Worst: Night of the Lepus, Zombie 3, and Silk

Take a trip down memory lane as Best of the Worst celebrates the 35th anniversary of the release of the first camcorder by filming an entire episode on VHS cameras! You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll be nauseous from the horribly blown out low grade imagery. The only reprieve would be the fact that all three movies watched are 2K and 4K restorations available on blu-ray, but the movies themselves are just terrible so it doesn't matter.

One of the cameras you used definitely had the best quality of the three cameras you used. What brand was that?

Almost kingdom of the spiders

Amazing. How were the cameras set up for the panel? Was the one on the left the Beta-cam? Also great choice of movies, though I would’ve loved to have seen ‘Night of the Lepus’ go up against ‘Kingdom of the Spiders’.

Whatever cam they used for the wide shot at the table ended up terribly overexposed. It's perfect.

OH MY GOOOOOD, that twist is so good!!

There's another connection thematically and musically between "Shore Leave" and "This Side of Paradise": care-free and happy love ending in sad notes between Kirk and Ruth in "Shore Leave" and between Spock and Leila in "This Side of Paradise." Both stories are accompanied by the beautiful and sad melodic piece "2nd Ruth" by Gerald Fried. https://youtu.be/194h6lWJDE8

"Filming the man now, filming the Space Cop now!" while Space Cop looks at Cooper in disgust. One of my favorite funny scenes in the movie.

This may be the best of the BOTW, except for the episode with Future War, The Jar, & White Fire; it will be difficult to ever top that one. You really need to do the Incredible 2-Headed Transplant sometime - it’s one of Bruce Dern’s finest films: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CN6PYJaJiV8

I wonder how many filters were used in post to make the VHS videos better. My bet is "wut?"

Can't wait for the digitally remastered re-release with redone special effects

Neil Breen did not buy a drone. The only possible explanations for the drone footage in "Pass Through" are as follows: 1) Neil Breen rented a drone. 2) Neil Breen stole a drone. 3) Neil Breen drove around the desert until he saw somebody using a drone, jumped out of his car, ran into the shot, overpowered the drone operator, stole the SD card from the drone, and then went in search of more free drone footage. I'd bet heavily on option #3.

Funny how the VHS makes the black background of the discussion room look as dingy as the room/basement in the "Awl 'D' Best" tape. Great episode as always.

FINALLY, you sneaky guys. You buried it at the end, just like Breen's rants. Are they just "rants," or do we need a new word for it?

The music is dope on this one. Good job y'all.

Twit In A Hat

Those cocktail party scenes look like something out of an (especially-shitty) 1990s FMV game.

My eyes were so relieved when you finally switched back to digital cameras. It felt like I had eye surgery.
