Dear Patrons! This text I will publish soon on my Instagram but I am happy to give you early access. Thank for the support as usual💕

How to start? How to practice if you're a beginner? These questions I get very often. More often I get the question "how are you now?" haha (Who doesn't know I live in Ukraine).

So today I am happy to share with you my thoughts about it and maybe this info would be useful.

If I have to start from scratch at first I would definitely try to choose the direction. And I think it's super hard because as you may know design now has multiple directions - 2d, 3d, web design, graphics design, illustration and etc. And obviously, you have to try several things, use free sources - Youtube channels, Insta blogs, some free webinars and courses. You have to test the technology and yourself - how you feel doing some stuff. Because personally, I am sure that creative professions should be a passion.

So, let's say that you find the direction, learn software a bit, what's next?

I would choose carefully a correct course that covers EXACTLY your interests, I've already written a post with my tips on how to do it. Check it out. Why do I recommend taking a course? Because it's always structured information. Sure, you can find all info for free, but when you're a beginner you just don't know what to google. Color theory, composition, video editing, animating principles and many other things. It transforms into a mess in a head.

After the course, you need practice - commercial projects or your personal - doesn't matter. Unfortunately, any course doesn't give enough hours of practice.

And then make sure that you're visible as a creator. Yeah, clients don't know that you're here - amazing new professional -if you don't share this info with them. Publish your works, create a portfolio, connect with the community, HRs, registrate on freelance platforms, create your professional blogs etc. I am sure I forgot something in this list haha

And don't stop! Some of the beginners get jobs in several weeks, some of them - in several months. Everyone moves at an individual pace.

That's my thoughts. Now in the comments, I suggest you share how you start your way in design.
