**HAPPILY EVER AFTER HEADPHONE WARNINGS**  

The final chapter of the main story (which was ADORABLE), the post script from MXTX, and the first "extra" chapter that was both heartbreaking and heartwarming? We only have about a month left with TGCF, but I'm not ready for it to end!  

We let Whiteboard-kun take a break this week (last week was rough on him), but he'll be back next week! Let's talk about this final chapter of the main saga and this first extra to ring in the new year! SO CUTE!

AFTER IT ALL WE HAVE FINALLY REACHED THIS FAR!! i cannot believe it, should i cry? should i laugh??! Congratulations! I love the folklore at the end, it gives it this touch of a story that's already happened, like real folklore. The rainbow statue is a MUST-HAVE!! I'd like to buy it as merch thank you very much! The calligraphy lessons were so sweet, and the tattoo reveal!!! The fact that he mangled Xie Lian's name so badly that Xie Lian himself couldn't recognise it!! I'm crying y'all. The art in these chapters killed me, especially the little idol dolls.. The fact that if you worship them together, they are more powerful than apart. IT KILLS ME!! I relate to Xie Lian not liking the texture of Yuanxiao, I TRIED BUT IT'S TOO SWEET AND STICKY! I prefer more savoury goods. I do appreciate all the art they are spoiling us with in this volume! One thing MXTX mentioned in the postscript was that Huahua's mother is not han! As MXTX said; it's only alluded to if you know how to pick up the clues and subtexts and connect it to the culture; many people have figured out that Hua Cheng is at least half Miao (some theorise him as more specifically of the Hmong people). Hua Cheng's clothing, his red umbrella, butterfly motifs, the maples and the beasts depicted on his vanbraces and jewellery (especially the use of silver), can all be linked to the Miao cultural groups, especially the large necklace stareemeber sometimes draws him with and the donghua gave him. There are even points within the story where characters make alluded connections but are missed in English translation due to the lack of cultural context. I find it an interesting little detail to Hua Cheng's past, but it's understandable why MXTX didn't want to pay much attention to it, as she said herself in the post-script, that she isn't an expert on the cultures and probably mixed them up a little. However, the Donghua team appeared to have embraced the idea; as they released a short 4-minute birthday video for Hua Cheng where they spotlight Miao culture and silver! It's a very interesting watch and fully subbed in English. But yeah, thank you for the lovely reaction! I cannot WAIT to get into the extras!

I am still stunned and not sure what to feel reaching the “Extra chapters!” But thank you! I’m happy to have reached the final chapters! 😀 And the folklore – THE RAINBOW STATUE! I would LOVE it as merch – the merchandise team needs to get on that! ^^ The TATTOO REVEAL! So happy about that! I just….that part just wrecked my heart in a good way! The drawings included in these chapters were honestly gorgeous and I’m OBSESSED with Xie Lian’s hair down in that tattoo illustration! And yes, you have to worship them together – just loving it! Hmmm, I have a major sweet tooth, so I would probably like yuanxiao! That’s interesting about Hua Cheng’s lineage! Thank you for that information! I’m SO excited for the extras! YAY!!! I re-checked the og text and the statue in the new shrine is not exactly 'rainbow colored' ROFL it's more like the statue is now painted with extravagant colors rather than being mere rock/muddy color bc the statues are made from clay or terricota. One accurate image would be in donghua ep1 when the xianle trio decided on XL being the fake bride and it's next morning, the statue we saw at that NanYang temple. We've already pointed out that in the extra the diner where XL ate his yuanxiao is likely run by HX's family, and although till now neither party has shown evidence that they've connected dots, black water certainly didn't let go of the chance to get his payback for that bowl by devouring 50 bowls of noodles in 5 seconds LOL Although we didn't get anything truly nsfw till the end of the main story unlike with mdzs where those two instantly rolled into the bushes after the boss fight, the 'evil essence coming from internal' is more than enough for imagination to run wild!

Okay, look, I want a rainbow divine statue now! The English translation has made it canon and I want it! :P LET ME HAVE THIS! Hahahaha!!! And ahhh, Blackwater swapping 50 bowls for 1? I'm not sure Hua Cheng agrees with that interest! ;) Bahaha, honestly, when you think about it, WangXian was making out and having a trist in the bushes every six chapters and meanwhile, HuaLian are much more...private about their affairs. But I agree -- MXTX making our imaginations go CRAZY with what we don't know EXACTLY went down! I love it! Thank you for the kind words and comment! :D Cannot wait for the other extras!
