**FIRST SELECTION HEADPHONE WARNINGS**  

The First Selection ends with a BANG! and the end of the match up against Team V, and Isagi is riding a high of discovering how he can move forward as a Striker!  

But this was only the First Selection, and Ego makes it pretty well known the Second will be NOTHING like the first, and a LOT harder! But our Z Boys seem up for anything...yay? *nervous chuckles*

I think you got there in the end, but just to clarify, there were 5 separate buildings each thinking they were the lowest ranked Building 5. So 5 sets of teams V-Z with a total of 25 players surviving from each building (per your correct math, 2 teams of 11 plus 3 top scorers from the losing teams). So Itoshi Rin was NOT in the same building as Isagi and the crew and survived from another building's team V. Like I said, I think you got it, but just wanted to make it explicit in case anyone else is still confused haha

Awesome reaction and discussion!! I loved your Reaction to Raichi punching Kuon XD Somehow, one way or another, Raichi has became of of my fave characters so its always so funny seeing you react to him. I really loved the plot twist blue lock pulled with every block being told they are the worst. Ego really be there playing 4d chess on them all XD. I feel like this was such a correct decision from the author to avoid the power creep that would have happened if the players we now knew were the weakest of the bunch, because we seen them do some really crazy stuff even now. When I first watched this show this was such a nice, unexpected surprise to me. Also, loving Isagi getting more confidence in himself! Also, his relationship with team Z (but especially Bachira) is soo cute!! I loved the moment where all of them were just happy and chilling together after their win!! Also fun VA facts!! Itoshi RIn (the boy who went first for the second selection) is voiced by Kōki Uchiyama! He also voices Tsukishima from Haikyuu, Soul from soul eater, Shigaraki from BNHA, and EVEN MORE JJK OVERLAP, with Inumaki!!!

The adrenaline rush I felt in the first part of this ep, Isagi’s awakening and realizing his goal formula! So proud of him. The animation was crazy for that goal. How perfect is it that Isagi’s awakening happens in ep 11, his jersey number! Loved your Raichi appreciation in this episode. Totally agree he is the MVP 👏 Also, Raichi is ICONIC for punching Kuon in the face. He really fooled us into thinking he had a sudden change of heart and was going to forgive Kuon, but nope, the fake-out! He said he’s gonna be holding a grudge forever, that’s our Raichi 🥰 He has had some subtle character development for sure though especially in how he interacts with Isagi and the team. You said that Raichi reminds you of Jean. Yeah, he also reminds me of Jun from Daiya. The bachisagi getting the water bottles scene was so wholesome! Niko waiting there and establishing himself as Isagi’s rival (aka harem member *cough*). I like how the show’s being self-aware with Bachira saying, “You’re getting popular, Isagi. How many rivals is that now?” Niko being all dramatic especially with the “Screw you” while he’s walking away. He’s trying to act tough, but at the same time, he speaks using keigo (I’ve talked before about how he uses the boku pronoun), which includes adding the polite expressions “gozaimasu” (he said "omedetou gozaimasu" the polite form of saying congratulations), and using “desu” at the end of sentences. He also has those lovely aquamarine eyes that he hides with his bangs. Idk, Niko’s just endearing to me. I was so flabbergasted by the plot twist that Ego revealed, and I appreciate it for the same reasons you said—it’s a great decision for the story. I like that our protagonist and Team Z are not the very bottom of the barrel underdogs that we thought they were and that there isn’t such a huge gap between the power levels. It makes things more reasonable and more competitive. Isagi’s aura being a fluorescent lime green 💚 Some people think it’s an odd choice and prefer the blue aura, but I’m here to defend it. First of all, it reminds me of Tsurune, specifically Minato’s color! It’s also the color of the turf, the artificial grass on the soccer field. The globe of the Earth 🌎 is often depicted using lime green and blue to represent the land and water. The “Yo” in Isagi Yoichi means “world,” so it’s fitting that his colors are green (aura) and blue (hair and eyes) to represent the Earth. Furthermore, lime green represents spring and new life. It fits with his birthday being the start of school in Japan and the start of the spring season. I’d say the sprout on his head represents spring too. And this ties with the title “Blue Lock” and how blue is associated with youth in Japan. Also, in many languages, blue and green are highly associated with each other. Btw I haven’t personally read any analysis of isagi’s green aura, so I just came up with most of this rn lol. So we got Isagi’s green aura and then at the end of the ep this mysterious guy with green hair shows up. Hm interesting. About my first impression of Rin, the number of times you said “beautiful” in the discussion when talking about his design and graceful kicks—that’s a mood. Every time he’s on screen, you already know I have to admire his beauty. He even beats out Chigiri in terms of prettiest BLLK character for me. His deep sea green hair and vivid teal eyes are such an aesthetically pleasing color combination. I just thought of this parallel: in ep 1, while everyone was hesitating, Isagi rushed through the crowd and was the first to enter Blue Lock. In this ep, while everyone was hesitating, Rin was the first to enter the Second Selection, and calmly at that (and then Isagi entered second it seems). I also just realized this: All the 125 players left did the 10 days of training, which means that that was the first time Rin touched a ball in 10 days. So it LITERALLY was a warm up like Rin said. Makes it even more impressive.

Ohhhh, that’s a great note about Episode 11 being when #11 gets his awakening! 🙂 Raichi just manhandling Kuon, but where was the lie? I really enjoyed him in this episode! I can totally see the Jun from Daiya comparisons with Raichi as well! 😀 HAHA, Niko was totally standing in that cafeteria, application to the Isagi harem IN HAND, ready for Bachira and Isagi to quit being adorable. I love how self-aware the show is as well about his harem growing. But seriously, Niko, Rin, and Sae’s aquamarine eyes are BEAUTIFUL! I’m excited to see all three in this series, still! The fact that we don’t have to worry about the power level gaps and “rising through the ranks” is so refreshing! I love it, too. I like your defense of the green aura – definitely a tie to Minato from Tsurune, and I’ll compare it to turf in Episode 12, so that’s fun! But the Land and Water reasoning with his eyes and the aura – okay, I like that combination probably the most so far, hahaha! And I MEAN, if you combine the blue of Isagi with the yellow of Bachira…THAT’s GREEN, sooooooo…. ;) I would agree that Rin at this point is the prettiest Blue Lock character! He just looks soooo good, and Green’s my favorite color, so that probably doesn’t help! 😛Oooohh, and Rin touching the ball for the first time in 10 days and does THAT? Impressive indeed! Love it!
