**Headphone Warnings**  

This is such a crazy volume, because on the one hand: "Children of the Forest," Levi vs. Zeke, and Mr. Brause being just MVP Dad in general - they're some of my favorite moments in the latter half of this series.  

But Eren's cruel distancing from Mikasa and Armin, Zeke's nihilistic views, Shadis's beating, and just the overall doom and gloom sinking into Paradis is...it's pretty awful. Eren wants to save his friends...but Paradis will never be the same and what do we do with this? *sigh*

One major thing you didn‘t notice is that Mikasa took the scarf off at the end in the cell. A subtle thing but very sad.

Think i got triggered when you said you have to be more open minded about Eren and i almost went on a rant. 😜 But i think i've made my thoughts about Eren clear before, maybe put a bit more diplomatically then in my own head, but clear enough. 😉 When Eren is talking to Mikasa and Armin all we know is that he wants to put distance between them, we don't entirely know what he himself thinks are truths and what are lies. Does he really believe Armin is influenced by Bertholdt or does he just say it to hurt him? Is it a lie but with a bit of truth sprinkled in? Also, just because Eren thinks something is the truth doesn't make it so. So we can have some truths, some lies and/or Eren just being wrong about something, i think those three just might need another sit down to really hash all that out.

Hahahaha, I'm trying to justify when I do rant (and I do a lot with him at this point, hahahaha!) -- Oh yeah, I feel I'm pretty clear about how I feel about Eren, but who knows -- maybe the manga will open up new paths for me! :P EXACTLY! I think not knowing Eren's "overall" end game is frustrating at this point, because you know that Eren is probably wrong, probably thinking some things are true, probably lying, but until the end of the anime when I get the full context with him, it's going to forever make this point frustrating and my blood boil! But well said! :) THEY DEFINITELY NEED ANOTHER SIT DOWN...or...I don't know how that could possibly work in the final part, but maybe we'll see, eh? Thanks for the comment!

The one thing i think we can say Eren knows he's lying about is the Ackermann devotion/protection instinct. It may say something about how Eren sees himself if he thinks there must be magic titan enslavement powers involved for Mikasa to stand by him. Well i guess he might have gotten the idea from somewhere down (or up) the timeline, but seems to me just a thought he floated by Zeke who had no idea what he was going on about.

Yes, I remember in the anime reactions we were talking about Eren trying to give an "excuse" to why Mikasa would like him and believing it were the Ackerman's -- and then Zeke was like, "Bro. No. She just likes you." Hahahaha!!
