This episode was wonderful. The adaptation (not unlike season 1) has been extremely faithful to the manga, and has even added much stuff ! The entire scene with Mei Mei and Utahime is almost entirely exclusive to the anime. In the manga it just begins with them in the never ending corridor, cracking the thing, then Gojou blowing up the house and showing up. The basketball scene was also improved, in the manga it was just in a classroom. There is a chapter that actually was skipped, but it will probably be adapted later. If it turns out they really skipped it I'm going to be mad at Mappa tho ! As for your reaction itself, I ADORED it.

Btw in the ending, the orange flowers between Gojou and Getou symbolize true love. This isn't even a ship anymore this is very clearly canon.

I'd like to talk about Getou's scene, which teaches Gojou to speak more politely, in English subtitle, people in the English-speaking region probably don't know much about Japan's first-person culture, so they're excluded, but Getou is telling Gojou, "You'd better change your first-person from Ore to Boku or Watashi." Because Boku and Watashi is a more polite expression. FYI, Gojou, a high school student, uses Ore in the first person, and Gojou, an adult in season 1, uses Boku...I think it's a nice detail.

Oh ! Sorry I did not know she planned to eventually read the manga, I only knew she wanted to stay anime-only. I will therefore refrain from comparing the adaptation to the manga for future episodes.

Your Nobara cosplay is truly epic! Love it. You look fantastic. I didn't appreciate the IT reference for the little kid in his raincoat Romania 🤣 When I watched it for the first time I thought it was cute how the kid held up their arm, potentially as a way to let drivers be able to notice/see them crossing more easily. Now I'm imagining poor kid getting dragged down into the sewers by Pennywise. I did laugh at you realising we were getting the past and immediately declaring the most important figure we need to see from back then: adult of adults, Nanami Kento 😂 Mei's look is gorgeous in this. And she's so calm and collected, whilst potentially seeming cocky but I rather see it as simply being confident in her own abilities and her own self-worth. Also we get the reveal that, at this point, she's a First Grade Sorcerer (what Nanami is in the present day) and can work out that Utahime is Gojo's senpai by at least two years. Some parts I'm personally unsure about for the animation. Other parts feel so fitting for the nostalgic reminders of the past, as well as adding that horror story element for some scenes. Especially with the way they lead up to you believing there's going to be a jump-scare and then Mei appears behind Utahime. For the third girl, going by the suit she was wearing and her driving the car, my guess is she was Mei and Utahime's assistant (similar to Ijichi and Nitta from Season 1). Between the noose, backpacks sitting on the seats, tallies, and the folded clothes it really gives you such an eerie vibe. And then when you learn that they're basically trapped within the house you can imagine your everyday person who came to test their courage just slowly losing their mind. Potentially the negative emotions from how those people would feel being stuck in such a loop just helps feed the curse even more. I loved the use of sound with the image staying focused on the window and the rain as Utahime and Mei walk round and round and round again. They're voices and footsteps sound as if they're going off into the distance before slowly getting closer. That, alongside what they're saying and the music (OST they used for some horror moments in Season 1), really gives you chills. Mei and Utahime really are so cute together. I love the dynamic between them. But it does mean I'm torn on if I ship Mei and Utahime together or Ieiri and Utahime...Either way though it's a senpai/kouhai relationship (Utahime uses -san suffix for Mei and is quite respectful with how she speaks to her, with Ieiri she calls her by her first name and is much more informal). "Hidden Inventory" sounds like an okay title, won't hurt at all. Then they had to add "Premature Death", yeah Jujutsu Kaisen's gonna make us all suffer again! 😂😭 There are chibis, I'm in! 😂 Gojo in that basketball scene was giving me *all* the Aomine vibes. Especially that shot where he just threw the ball and it did end up going in the hoop. Those kinds of trick shots, and Gojo's carefree attitude about performing them, just screams Aomine to me 🥰 Geto being the one to explain to Gojo about Tengen does help explain how he was able to help the Special Grades and the two Curse Users break into Jujutsu Tech for Sukuna's fingers in Season 1. That and the discussion with the adults (Gojo, Utahime, Yaga, Gakuganji, Mei, and Ijichi) are the only times Tengen got mentioned in Season 1 (Episode 21). Gojo choosing his drink at the vending machine like Kageyama was so strange. But it fits his brattish nature as a teenager. Geto's look of utter disgust at Gojo simply declaring they're the strongest was hilarious. It helped ease the pain of Gojo saying "we" rather than "I" as he did in Season 1 Episode 2 to Itadori before testing out fighting against Sukuna. Also what Geto was getting at Gojo in regards to being more polite is that how he speaks is very informal, even for those older than him. But in Season 1 he does speak in a slightly more formal manner. Though he can still be a little sh*t (e.g. to Gakuganji). "Stop being full of yourself" proceeds to use a cursed technique to crush a drink can. Though that moment did give me a flashback (flashforward?) to when Gojo teaches Itadori more about cursed energy and cursed techniques. I haven't seen Chainsaw Man yet so the vibes I got with that hallway Geto walked down was all The Shining 😂 Was waiting for Danny pedalling down the hallway on his tricycle. You did not disappoint with your reaction to Koyasu's voice for Daddy Fushiguro. When they revealed that information and hearing it in the trailer I flipped out. So can't wait to see more from him. Toji really ticks so many of my boxes looks-wise 🥰😍 Thank you Akutami for such a character design 😂 I know we already discussed the flowers in the discord, but I just realised some evil symbology with the ED. They show the osmanthus first, which in Japanese can symbolise first love. Then they're immediately followed by the red spider lilies that are used to signify death. Why you gotta do this to us Mappa?! Just blatantly out here in the ED reminding us that the SatoSugu first love will die and they're gonna break-up 😭 Okay no I almost coughed up a lung laughing so hard at your opening for the discussion "I think I could spend eight minutes talking about the OP" *looks to discord* 🤣🤣🤣 Cannot wait for next week's video! All the 90s/early 2000s references were so great. Gives me such nostalgia. Same for all the references Akutami manages to throw into his manga. Yes Gojo gives off rich boy vibes. I'd liken his level of rich boy to being between Midorima and Akashi for the air he gives off 😆 Such a great reaction and discussion for this new season.

Love the Nobara cosplay! I wore my Gojo shirt for the first episode, will probably wear my Geto shirt for episode 2. I'm not anime only but I waited 3 years for this arc and I love how they're animating it, can't wait for the rest of the season. I hope you stay spoiler free! Great reaction and discussion as always!! I enjoyed it so much!! YESSSSSS!!! The new season is finally here!!! Loved the beginning of this episode. The scene with Geto was so chilling and disturbing. It made me so sad when he said that curses taste so horrible because we know that he had 6000 curses gathered in jjk0. And he had to absorb ALL OF THEM. All of them tasting so horribly and disgusting. Imagine how much suffering it must have brought him. hbdkbcks Loved that choice for the voice actor for Fushiguro! When I first found out they got Takehito Koyasu I squealed out loud. I didn't expect it at all but I will love to see how he voices this character!! Fun fact! The music that plays when Mei and Utahime walk in circles is the one used in the cursed womb episodes in season 1! Its named "Cursed womb must die" and its one of my favorite music scores in this series. Also fun fact! The manga chapter that covered the corridor scene came out like, 3-4 months after the csm chapter about the hotel did! I love the old tech that they used here! The windows XP displays killed me XDD And the old timey mouse pad that looks like a circle that was popular in that time period XDDD Honestly though, I didn't get the Digimon references the first time I saw them. I never watched Digimon before and was so befuddled by that when I first saw it. I was literally like Geto there, like, "What? Okay sure, I didn't understand that at all, but you do you!" I didn't get it at all and only after someone explained it to me I understood it XD Also love how much of the Geto/Gojo ideologies swapped with each other when they grew older. Gojo was so "survival of the fittest!" as a teenager and now he tries to protect people and Geto was all "Strong exist to protect the weak" and in jjk0 he was all "Eliminate the weak, the strongest should remain!!" Some great stuff there. Also the change from Gojo saying "We are the strongest" about him and Geto in this season and then the change to him saying "I am the strongest" in season 1... AAAAAAAAA IT MAKES ME SO SADDDD Seriously though, the gay subtext in this episode is one little step away from being just text XD I wish they would just kiss already. They have so much sexual tension going on you could power the whole city with it. GojoxGeto was my very first big ship in any anime I've watched so I am very attached to it XD Also fun fact about the translation! They did the best they could, because there are no words that could translate what was said from japanese to english. The meaning was kept similar, but in the scene where Geto scolds Gojo for being too arrogant, it has a different meaning in japanese! In japanese Geto says that gojo should use a different way to refer to himself! More concretely, that he should stop using "ore" to refer to himself, which is more arrogant and rude and that Gojo should start using "boku" or "watashi", which are way more polite, formal and more humble way to refer to yourself. The OP and ED are so chock full of references and metaphors!! Love that!! (The fishessss, the flowers, the colors and compositions!! Everything else!!! AAAAA!!!) Once again, great video!! (ps. I am still not used to patreon's shift+enter thing for the move to the line below to happen, so I accidentally posted this comment few times before I was finished with it and had to delete it XDD)

Aaaaahhh I’m so happy to be back in the jjk world. I’ve missed this anime so much. Love the Nobara cosplay btw✨ Loving this take on them giving us some flashbacks cuz the whole time in Season 1 I was like who is this Geto guy in the background we know nothing about but they kept teasing backstory & the movie definitely made me want more. It’s gonna be nice getting jjk weekly again. It’s been so long! I was so close to reading the manga & I’m so glad I waited. Loving the atmosphere, music & the personalities of these characters. Can’t wait for more.
