**Flashback-Centered Headphone Warnings**

I was hoping for a flashback in this episode and we got that in SPADES! Getting to see how Cho-san, Takei, and Kiyomizu are all connected in their pasts was amazing -- and THEN we have the mystery of the death of Daisuke's MOTHER and some possible nefarious ties to the present...

...thankfully, Haru and Daisuke seem to be working together at the moment, but where do we go to from here?! Things just keep getting crazier!

Cho-san's comment about making an easier work environment does make me laugh. Perhaps it's a difference between Japan and here, but in Northern Ireland working for/with your in-laws is more likely to cause more stress and potential troubles than give you an easier life. Can give you a bit of a better footing in some cases, but that's only dependant on how well you treat your significant other. The change for Takei and Cho-san is only a bit of aging, but the change for Kiyomizu (Modern Crimes Chief) is quite crazy. The connection between all three is very curious, especially with two still being together whilst the other (who married the director's daughter) is head of First Division. But although Kiyomizu has been put into Modern Crimes he wasn't demoted in regards to being the one in charge of that division. That sound at the beginning of the OP has always been there. It really sounds like "B*tch slap" but it's actually meant to be "Pitched up" 😂 I do recall there being quite the bit of shock/confusion from the fandom until the official lyrics came out. The witness trying to give an accurate description for the artist to create a rendering of their suspect is a great realistic aspect for this episode. Eye-witnesses can be very unreliable. It's hard to remember such details and you can question yourself too much on if you're remembering right or not. But using the illegally acquired photo album to get confirmation of if the witness recognises the suspect means that if they'd managed to get any other evidence and taken it to trial, a good defence could have the witness testimony thrown out alongside the album. The way Takei describes Cho-san leaving whilst he stayed makes it sound so much like Cho-san left of his own accord. Feel like this might have been how Takei justifies it all to himself. Haru taking things into his own hands and wanting to talk things out with Daisuke himself, rather than believing at face value what all these people he's known much longer are hypothesising about Daisuke. This part of his character reminds me a lot of Kagami. Both really say "Eff that!" to miscommunication. Though Haru goes further than Kagami by wrecking a car and storming Daisuke's gates 🤣 Haru recognising Daisuke as a police officer 🥰 He's no longer just a rich boy who's possibly just messing around at playing cops and robbers. And then we get the truth behind why Daisuke not only wanted to join the police, but specifically join Modern Crimes 🥺 The whole part with Takei and Hoshino I find somewhat interesting. Takei was basically Cho-san's kouhai/partner, and Cho-san has been shown to suspect Daisuke because of the same information. Meanwhile Hoshino was Haru's kouhai, and both are very much about investigating it more thoroughly before they can be certain of Daisuke's guilt or innocence. The whole VR experience of Takei's memories feels like such an Inception-style dream that it really messes with your mind. And you thought you couldn't wait after Episode 6! 😂 This one would be a hard one to not watch ahead after seeing it. There's a great amount of information dropped but leaves all these questions hanging to really draw you in. One question of "what's in the locker?" being very like "what's in the box?" from Se7en...though hopefully there's an actual answer unlike with Se7en.

I always think working with family is HARDER than anyone else – because of that relationship and that you’re going to see them again at some point, unlike other co-workers that you just see some hours a day and usually not outside work. I need to read the lyrics to the OP and ED once the series is over! :) I always thought the “sketch” aspect of investigation was crazy – I’m glad artists can draw based on what the witness tells them but how it looks like the actual suspect? Wild times! But that’s a good point about the use of evidence! Ah, I could see Cho leaving the division while Takei stayed, like you noted. And yesssss, Haru being like NO MISCOMMUNICATION – I love that about both him and Kagami! <3 But yeah, Kagami seems to respect the property of others at least…or he doesn’t have the luxury like Haru does of knowing that Daisuke has the resources to fix the gate! I love that the truth comes out and Daisuke wants to find out the truth behind his mother’s death! That’s such a cool point about Takei/Cho vs. Haru/Hoshino – I’ll have to bring that up in a future reaction! The VR experience IS like Inception! And YES! Such Se7en vibessssss! But yes, I cannot WAIT to see what happens next! Thank you for the kind words and comment!

I'm so glad we got so much backstory this episode. There is still enough mistery but we also got a lot so that it doesn't get frustrating knowing nothing. Hoshino kinda reminds me of a more mature Sakaki from run with the wind. They give me similar vibes and I like both of them. Could be from them having the red hair. XD Yeah, I was totally ready to see Takai blow up. Glad that didn't happen. The VR dream scene was really good. It was confusing but still good. I think the ex-director definitely has something to do with this. Wish you a wonderful day!

The episode is TEASING us and I agree, it's so frustrating with what we don't know! And ahhh, I can SO see the Sakaki comparison! They do have a similar vibe! I think the hair helps because I was making Shirakawa comparisons from Ace of the Diamond, and it's literally just the hair, haha! I agree; the VR element was insane and slightly confusing, but great, too! SO much suspicion and I'm excited to see where it goes! Thank you for the comment and I hope you have a wonderful day, too!
