Thank you for not watching Trigun Stampede yet. Don't get me wrong, it's actually great - updating Trigun to the modern era of anime while keeping most of its charm - but there is something intangible missing that I can't put my finger on. Heart? My own nostalgia? I do think that while it is pretty good at telling the story for a new audience, it is definitely a show made by and for people who love Trigun. Which, I hope, will include you. Once this is over, and MAYBE after checking out the manga, I hope Trigun Stampede will make its way onto the channel.

I couldn't read past your first line, though, because I'm all against any spoilers, hints, or clues and that includes anything to expect or compare Trigun to Trigun Stampede -- that way, I can go in blind and make my own assumptions and natural discussions about the series. :)

I watched this in dub, with Johnny Yong Bosch as Vash, many years ago. I thought Vash's VA sounded like Mamoru too, so I had to look it up. IN the Japanese dub Vash is voiced by Onosaka Masaya. Onosaka Masaya has a very long listed of anime he has worked on but he has voiced Shinji Hirako from Bleach, several supporting characters from One Piece and Yasuda Yasuharu from Slam Dunk.

Ooohhhhh, wow, I probably am glad I watched the sub first, then, because all I would be thinking about would be Ichigo while watching!! hahaha! That's so fascinating about the Japapnese VA for Vash -- I have some things to add for the discussion next week based on what you told me, so thank you for the comment and saying that! Yes, you're reacting to Trigun... the nostalgia! The first time I saw this anime I was ten years old and Vash was one of the first crushes I had on fiction 😳 He's the reason why I like tall, blond, blue-eyed characters a lot. We have that in common, Romania!😆 Btw, you can't imagine how happy I am that you're watching the 90s series first. Most people start with Trigun Stampede and that makes me sad because the 90s series is so good and deserves more love! 🥺❤️ Great reaction and discussion, as always. The nostalgia is HERE! I definitely am already developing a crush on Vash -- he meets all my criteria as well! Definitely have a lot in common! I actually watched Trigun Stampede first and planned on watching the original after but now I think i'll watch along with you! This will be a fun series.

This was the first episode of anime I ever watched. A friend at school lent me the DVD. I saw this even before I started watching DBZ, and I never watched Pokemon or anything like that. I saw the destruction of that bar animated in loving detail and I was hooked for life! Thanks for the reaction!

Thank you for the kind words and comment! That is AMAZING -- I love that! I remember seeing VHS tapes of his series but was too invested in Pokemon/Sailor Moon/DBZ/YYH at the time! :) I'm so glad I get to see it now! I can't wait for more!
