Well...this just got CRAZY!   

No manhua reaction this week, sadly, but I did get Volume 4 in the mail, so I react to the cover of it and read Chapters 44 and 45 of Volume 2, and things...HEAT UP A NOTCH! LITERALLY!   

Characters revealing new sides of themselves, both Lang AND Xie Lian...perhaps...as he's revealed to be an evil Guoshi who massacred the Yong'an family?! And Jun Wu's an EX, possibly?! Or wishes he was?!   

Haha, there is a LOT of wild theorizing on my part and lots to talk about -- just don't correct me on anything, please. Let me wallow in my ignorance as we discover what's going to happen to our poor cinnamon roll deity next!

Thanks for your reaction! Well, last week when you said on discord that you'll be reading chapter 44-45 everyone's like 'hoho, this is going to be such a ride' in black boxes LOL. We all know so much will be happening. When Earth Master is spotted by HC in Ban Yue pass, it's exactly like someone who's filed in a sick leave only to be found by his boss sunbathing on the beach……And given HC can slaughter 33 heavenly officials in one go, it's quite lucky Earth Master's still alive till now. Maybe HC's wanting to squeeze out more info about XL from him? XL: yeeting HC across the room and doing dramatic stares with him. HC: stares back while giving out mysterious cautions. SQX: Hell, I'm so done with this place and my colleague who's too busy flirting with a ghost king! I came in like a wrecking ball, I mean, a hurricane! MY: ZZZZZZZZZZZ LQQ: Martial God of the East to the rescue! Just like SQX, many of us tend to forget XL is really strong. He may look delicate as a flower crown, but he's deadly as a sharp sword! The FangXin GuoShi reveal! Let's admit that our cinnamon roll with a spicy filling has at least 90% chance being this evil priest who slaughtered a whole birthday party. And based on this theory, it's not that surprising that XL managed to taught his adopted daughter into another 'evil priest' of all time, it runs in the family! And you remember in earlier reactions you're saying that LQQ is so much like a 17-year-old XL? Here is the reason! OMG your theories about the relationship between XL and his sky daddy JW……I'm laughing soooooo hard. This background story is going to be a LOT, so be prepared!

There's...SO MUCH happening, right?! In two chapters! MXTX, she's a saucy minx, indeed! And that's the perfect description of HC's view of MY when he spotted them with the Windmaster! I was thinking they possibly wanted more info as to what was going on, too. And yes, our scrap-collector god is humble, but secretly packs a big punch! OMG, the idea that being an evil guoshi "runs in the family" with Banyue. 💀 And yeah, all the parallels with LQQ and XL....I'm soooo ready to see where my theories and this story take us! That cover is really about amping up the anticipation isn't it? Yes, we gain the identity of one previously unknown person from the previous chapter...yet another remains shrouded within the shadows. And now it's no longer a spoiler that both the Earth and Wind Masters change forms...or rather that Shi Qingxuan is keen on getting all their friends to try having a female form, and poor Ming Yi just lets it happen unlike when Shi Qingxuan tried to persuade Xie Lian to do the same. But the sass of Ming Yi; calling out Shi Qingxuan's attire in this kind of a situation 😂 And yes my second favourite ship in Tian Guan Ci Fu, Ming Yi/Shi Qingxuan - ship name: Beefleaf. They're adorable. I do love me some friends to lovers. Now Xie Lian falling on to Hua Cheng's lap; would that count as Xie Lian's bad luck raising it's head again or is Hua Cheng's good luck still working for our oblivious cinnamon roll? But actually yeeting Hua Cheng?? 🤦‍♀ Xie Lian's physical strength is just a whole other level. Xie Lian hoping to talk things out to solve the situation is adorable. But I do think it's ironic that the one wanting good communication is also the one who has some miscommunication issues thanks to his obliviousness. Though if they could have talked things out get it all sorted, and Xie Lian prevents Jun Wu from descending on Hua Cheng with a heavenly wrath, then Xie Lian could come back and visit the Ghostly Realm. He could take his time and enjoy the armoury. Go on dates with Hua Cheng...But we can't have nice things when this book rivals the length of the Bible 🤣 Shi Qingxuan in this situation we *do not* egg on and thank Lang Qianqiu for his reappearance. You just know everything's going to go to sh*t because of our himbo god. My brain maybe works different but first time I learned about Lang Qianqiu's magnetising sword my first thought was "that would make finding your keys sooo much easier!" 🤣🙃 Mo Xiang Tong Xiu and her parallels: Hua Cheng causing the golden foil palace to tumble down > the destruction of Hua Cheng's Paradise Manor. That lonely image of Hua Cheng surrounded by flames and the burning remnants of the things he'd happily gifted to Xie Lian...yeah I don't need my heart! 😭 Just gotta hit us with feels from Xie Lian's thoughts. It is nice that the Wind Master does feel sorry about the results of their actions, and willing to make amends (more than what any other god would likely be willing to do for a ghost, nevermind a Ghost King like Hua Cheng). However Shi Qingxuan's words show that they truly haven't ever wanted for anything. The words also show that they've never felt like they've lost anything irreplaceable. Money can't buy everything. Though it also shows the mindset of the Heavenly Officials that, for the most part, they believe money/merits *is* everything. Xie Lian truly is selfless to a fault 🥺 Though he's also a damn badass being able to deflect Lang Qianqiu's sword and E'Ming so swiftly. I knew you'd be glad to read Chapter 45 after Lang Qianqiu's unexpected announcement. Romania: What is this? Me: Tea being spilled in the Communication Array so anyone and everyone *has* to be there! Also all the gods running off to Google the Guoshi Fangxin, in this case 'Google' meaning Ling Wen is both hilarious and painful to me. You have working arms, feet, and brains, go look up the information yourselves (though the latter could be open to dispute)! Now remember Romania that Lang Qianqiu is a himbo, and considering his lateness to the banquet there's the potential he's *always* been a himbo. Don't know that he'd ever think to Scooby-Doo the Guoshi and de-mask his teacher after killing him. Okay if we get the massacre at the banquet in the donghua I now want to put it to The Rains of Castamere because of your comment 😂 "Xianle sends their regards!" That cover is a DARN TEASE! But seriously, that is sooooo hyping! Those artists and PR people know what they’re doing! Yeah, MXTX gives you an answer and refuses to answer another question…how very like her! And yesss, Ming Yi went along with Shi for….REASONS, it seems, and BEEFLEAF! I love them already! I want to support them and HuaLian with all my being! OMG, is XL falling into HC’s lap good or bad luck? YOU DECIDE! But him yeeting HC and HC just STARING at him with his eyebrow raised. I can’t tell you how excited I am to see the donghua of all this! That’s so interesting, like you said, that XL wants to talk but yet has so much miscommunication surrounding him! And yeah, we can’t have nice things, can we? UGH. OMG, LQQ’s powers with this sword WOULD be very useful, wouldn’t they? :) Yessss, the “golden palace” of Paradise Manor crumbling…due to XL or HC, though? Or both? Hm. It is really sad to see HC just standing in the flames alone with the remnants of his palace. *sighs* And while the Windmaster MEANT well, I like that you touched on the fact that the Windmaster is quite spoiled and hasn’t known true LOSS…or has forgotten that money can’t buy EVERYTHING. And yeah, the Heavenly Realm doesn’t help this mentality, because it’s very much based on money being the divine currency. XL stepping in to save LQQ by deflecting both swords; what a badass, indeed! But such a tragic, divine bean! And ooooooooh, the tea being SPILLED INDEED! @_@ I feel bad for Ling Wen – girl doesn’t get a moment’s rest, does she? LQQ is a himbo but also a very emotional himbo deeply rooted in his sense of justice! But injuring himself like that? Just…*sigh* And man…going after XL for a Red Wedding style tragedy?! The insanity! I wholeheartedly agree about the “Rains of Castamere” too! XD Seriously, though, our XL gets more and more complicated and layered and while I’m loving it, I feel more and more for him as well! But yeah…by the end of the halfway point, I’m LITERALLY going to have to bring Conspiracy Board-sama out! @_@ Or at least, that’s what I’m thinking! Thank you so much for the comment and kind words!

Your reaction to the volume 4 cover XDDDD SAMEEEE You know there were some people who wanted this cover censored? Mostly due to younger people who don’t want their homophobic parents seeing the cover, which is understandable but we all know about China and their strict censorship laws. We should be considered lucky to be able to have a cover like this. Why should we continue to enforce censorship just to appease homophobes? And if that’s the problem they have, they forget that these books are rated 18+, so I doubt they’re old enough to be reading these books in the first place. Anyways, I’m glad 7seas went through with the cover and didn’t change it. Yes, the Earth Master was the imprisoned Heaven official! I, too, ship Ming Yi and Shi Qingxuan—I always love the grumpy/sunshine dynamic. It’s so funny to hear Shi Qingxuan call Ming Yi their best friend and Ming Yi straight up rejects him every time 😂😂😂 but I do think it’s quite telling of how much Ming Yi cares about Shi Qingxuan even if he doesn’t want to show it since he does sometimes cater to his whims and shifts into his female form for Shi Qingxuan despite clearly not liking it. I think we really see how Shi Qingxuan is as a god and a person. He’s a little vain and airheaded sometimes. But he’s fair and knows right from wrong. Despite knowing Hua Cheng is a Ghost King, he knows that he’s the one at fault for literally fanning the flames and actually owns up to it by offering to pay for the damages. We all know there would be other officials who would gladly just pin the blame on Hua Cheng and believe it was well-deserved, so this was such a relief to see that not all the gods are just selfish mindless mobs. The plot is picking up. I’ve been waiting so long for Fangxin to be brought up again. Just to help you out with the timeline a little, back in during the Banyue arc (webnovel Ch.21), Xie Lian mentioned that Fangxin was at least a hundred years before Banyue. I won’t say anything else, but I hope that straightened out the order of events for you. I’m literally rubbing my hands together cackling evilly as I await your reaction for the next coming chapters.

That cover was WILD -- I was honestly surprised to see them kissing on it for the reasons you listed about censorship, but then again, the books are 18+ and who cares?! They're hot, let them kiss! Hahaha! :) I'm glad that they chose to go with the cover as well! It looks so good! I love the dynamic of Ming Yi and Shi as well! It's so cute!! :) And yes, the Windmaster IS a good person! I love that angle of him that we get with them, especially once they realize XL likes Hua Cheng! :) It's such a nice twist! Thank you for not spoiling me while trying to help clarify and ahhhhh, I'm not sure I'm ready for what's to come!
