**SEMIFINAL CONCLUSION HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

Wine-chan may have to accompany me for more Ace of the Diamond reactions because this volume was a ROLLER COASTER!

The semifinals conclude and our Ace pitches straight through nine innings! Tears, Cheers, Switched-up Walk-out songs! This match has been one of my FAVORITES in the series and it was just a tour de force to showcase how much our sunshine southpaw has grown and developed into an Ace!

So how does TJ follow up from that praise-worthy performance? Why, by diving into a despairing spiral of BL-level miscommunication, of course! **sobs** Why are we not surprised?!

Ah man I love this game lol I'm glad you enjoyed it because it really is one of my favourites and I re read it often. I love that TJ finally gave us some Shirasu content. Absolutely an amazing friend for using Noris frustration and sadness and channeling it to make that amazing hit. Over 600 chapters into this series and we're still getting new friendships shared to us. One of the best parts of this game for me is seeing Kosei grow and mature so much. He's grown incredibly since we first met him. I'm gonna miss him a lot in this series but I'm glad we got to see him finally as a real ace for his team and a leader. LUPIN THE THIRD. Still such an amazing moment. I can't imagine how Miyuki would've felt in that moment and it must've made Tetsu so proud too. Both Tetsu and Miyuki have iconic walk up songs but Tetsus just means so much at this point. The way I SQUEALED reading Miyukis thoughts about wanting to support his PARTNER. Ugh. Just kiss already dammit. After him saying that he just wanted to support Sawamura, rereading the game you can tell how frustrated he was getting increasingly as they struggled to score because Sawamura was pitching so well. I can't with them. TJ bringing in Sawamuras trauma TWICE in this game was so unneeded. The trauma he had from the fall tournament when he begged Kataoka to let him pitch the final inning and the trauma from the deadball. He just refuses to let the audience forget about it. That kid has way more trauma than gets acknowledged. Kosei openly cheering for his team is something I never expected to see. I love that he finally got to that point that he just really felt like it was necessary and he put all his pride away for a second to support his team that works incredibly hard for him as their pitcher. I really need the anime to make Hoshida look like the terminator just as they do in the manga 🤣🤣 My heart bleeds for Sanada honestly. I want him to sort out his feelings and realize he doesn't want to quit or leave baseball behind. He was just hitting his stride and I desperately want to see him on a pro or college team lager. There's very little that makes me smile as much as Sawamura getting praised by Chris. The biggest smile on both of their faces. Ugh so cute. You know what's funny? When these chapters were coming out the fans were debating on how many chapters the Inashiro semi final would be. My guess was 3 chapters.... it was over in 3 pages 😭 we were bamboozled The idea that Asou would've dropped the ball if it had been hit to him because of the tears in his eyes is equally hilarious and horrifying tbh lol Sawamura truly has some of the worst timing possible. If he had been seconds earlier or seconds later it wouldve been fine. But alas lol. The genuine miscommunication between Miyuki and Sawamura sometimes genuinely just grinds my gears lol. I mean at this point its on Sawamuras shoulders because Miyuki didn't even know he heard him nor that he has an issue with anything but still. Why don't they just talk to eachother 🥲 I won't blame you if you need wine for the remaining volumes 🤣 can't wait for next week 🎉

That says a lot, when a series can continue to introduce new dynamics THIS DEEP in! :) I really fell for Kosei in Act II – I hope this isn’t the last we see of him, even if it’s just through text messages to Sawamura on LINE – I need more of his eccentric quirkiness! I am REALLY looking forward to seeing Miyuki be starry-eyed in the anime ( or so I hope) when Lupin the Third comes on. The fact that Seki helped to inspire our captain with his mentor’s song…ugh….it will be an emotional moment when it’s animated FOR SURE! SERIOUSLY, THOUGH. Just kiss already, you two. Miyuki wanting to score to match up with the pitching Sawamura was giving? UGH. MY HEART. Also, now that you mention it – wow, TJ really did bring up MULTIPLE instances of trauma with Sawamura this game – I was just floored with how Sawamura handled it. TJ wants us to remember how far our sunshine boy has come. LET HIM REST, TJ! At least he got praised by Chris! I LOVED THAT SO MUCH! Give me all the moments with Sawamura and Chris, please! Right?! I would never have expected to see Kosei like that with his team, but I’m SO here for it! It’s such a great moment! But I agree with Hoshida, he looks TERRIFYING in the manga! I really hope that Sanada gets some help for him to sort everything out – I just want him to keep playing baseball! Let Raizou lead him to the schools and show him off! :) I want to see him as a pro, too! HAHAHAHAAH – three chapters – I was wondering if it would be just one, but TJ did one up on us, didn’t he? That other team…I almost feel bad for them. >.< And Asou admitting he would have dropped the ball, that gave me SUCH anxiety! I’m glad we didn’t have to worry about that! @_@ But TJ, giving us just a nice dose of “what could have been,” almost like he’s saying, “See? It could have been WORSE!” One of my least favorite tropes is miscommunication in romance series, and HERE WE ARE. TJ, WHY?! Why couldn’t Sawamura have come sooner and later? It definitely grinds my gears, too, and just…right before Finals!? Right after Sawamura’s awesome game!? Let our boy have time to soak in the praise a LITTLE! They BETTER TALK…that’s all I can say!
