**SCREAMING SEMIFINAL HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

I finish with Chapter 237 (that I forgot for Volume 26) and read Chapters 238-247 for Volume 27 and Y'ALL -- Brace yah-selves -- I get LOUD in this volume.

Because this game is AMAZING and I love how hard both Sawamura and Amahisa are going to get their team to win and be one step closer to Koshien! This volume was a roller coaster of emotions, hype moments, Miyuki x Sawamura goodness, SAWAMURA FAN SERVICE (bless you, TJ), and hilarity and dramatic epicness only Ace of the Diamond can bring...but seriously...you give us a cliffhanger NOW?!

Wine-chan will have to come out next volume, my friends.

This honestly is probably my favourite volume of the entire act 2 lol. I love watching Sawamura dominate a national level team so hard lol. Impregnable ace indeed. It's really nice to see Amahisa have such a genuine bond with someone who understands him and doesn't just think he's a weirdo lol. Him and Manaka have a great relationship and I imagine Manaka would've been so disappointed that Amahisa quit last year. I love that they give us stats for Sawamura in this volume. You're right that his pitch count is VERY low for the 5th inning. He hasn't been throwing many balls and most of his pitches have been for a purpose so there's not much waste. I know they both feed off eachother and feel motivated by eachother but I can't help but hate the way Amahisa thinks about how Sawamura is there to help him get better lol. I understand it completely but it feels kind of high and mighty 🤣 One of the best things about Amahisa, that he does in this volume, is he confirms that he sometimes alters pitchers on a dimes notice just because he gets a feeling that the original pitch won't do the job lol. The true sign of a genius pitcher for sure. Sanada showing up to this game is always so interesting. It's such a direct contrast to how he was when they lost and a contrast to how we usually see Sanada. He's never this serious like almost ever. You can really tell it's weighing on his mind heavily. I love how visibly annoyed Mei gets at the idea that he won't be able to play Seidou again in his last summer lol. I think those are the games he has the funnest time playing honestly. Not just because Seidou is a good team every year but because Miyuki is there lol One of the things that makes Sawamura such a good ace is that he's so aware of EVERYONE on the team. Not just the starters or the people hes close to. As he's having this inner monologue about not letting the senpais summer end, he's thinking about every third year. Every third year in the stands, on the bench, the 3rd year manager girls, AND the teammates he plays with regularly. It's so sweet and I love that about him. Never did I expect Sawamura fan service but I feel so blessed over it lol. Such a broad chest all of a sudden. We've talked in detail about how they've all changed since coming to Seidou but I love the proof that he's gained muscle that's visible. There also isn't anything better than Sawamura being a leader to his underclassmen. He could feel how concerned Koushuu was with how hard Sawamuras been going and even though Koushuu didn't verbalize it, he just stepped in and eased all concern in a moment. It's very sweet to see Tetsu thinking about Masashi and how much he believes in him. Even though Masashi didn't make it happen Tetsu still believes in his little brother 🥰 I'll never get over the way his teammates get motivated to improve conditions for Sawamura to pitch. Kanemaru and Haruichi both think about how they want things to be easier on him and thats really cute lol I love how hard Sawamura fought during his last at bat there with Amahisa. He doesn't usually hold on for that long but he got 8 pitches and kept fouling. Generally he's down in 3 pitches lol. Hes definitely thinking more and more. I remember the controversy around Mochi stealing bases this volume. A lot of people thought it was stupid and I know I myself was really nervous that it was going to really screw with his steal the way he was picked off in the first inning. So glad it went well lol It always makes me laugh how badly Seidou as a collective team wants to fight Amahisa and he's just chillin lol Anyway, can't wait for the wine volume next week lol 🎉🎉

2022-10-17 09:14:55 Honestly, it’s one of my favorites so far as well! Seeing this animated is going to be a Sawamura fan’s dream come true! Sawamura is wasting NOTHING this game and I am absolutely here for it! Sawamura thinking about EVERYONE in the game and how he doesn’t want to let them down is adorable and radiates Captain energy so much! I agree that it’s good Amahisa has a friendship like he does with Manaka – it’s kind of like Miyuki’s with Tetsu or Mei’s with Harada (without the shipping haha). I like those bonds from the third years currently with their retired teammates. I agree, it’s the one part with Amahisa that I don’t feel “jives” with the rest of his thoughts on Sawamura – the whole “using him to make him better” angle; it feels very “anime villain” and doesn’t quite match how Kosei seems to respect and almost be adoring towards him in the rest of the volume – it definitely feels like a “chapter cliffhanger ending line” because he seems to retreat from that statement later in the volume. But yes, the insight we get into him and his genius-level thinking on pitching is a LOT of fun! I love when we get into the pitcher’s head in these games. YES – Sanada being so solemn and serious is almost jarring from the chill mode he’s usually always in – I’m going to be intrigued to see where he goes mentally in the rest of this game (Go find Raichi afterwards! haha!). And yes, Mei with the I-just-wanted-to-play-my-ex-one-more-time vibes – he literally just wants to play Seidou to have a chance to play with Miyuka again, even if it’s against him. Maybe it’s not that they’re exes, but that Mei has an unrequited love? I’m sure Shirakawa would love that. I’ve noticed in the Official art and as we go through the manga how TJ has made Sawamura change and develop as he’s trained with the team, but MAN…I wasn’t ready for the Sawamura fan service. Not that I’m complaining; you go, sunshine boy! Him consoling Koshu’s worries, too, was such icing on the cake. Ace energy, captain energy, Koshu-swoon energy – Sawamura’s bringing it all to this game! And everyone taking notice and upping their game to match, whether it’s Haruichi or Tojo and Kanemaru…it’s so sweet! And Sawamura thinking and luring the pitcher to throw more…I love it! I love that Ryo and Tetsu are both here to watch their little brothers! <3 I was honestly REALLY nervous that TJ was going to have Kuramochi get picked off again, especially when Ochiai was theorizing about his mentality from the previous pickoff, but I’m glad that he made it work! Give us a bone, TJ! :) AND YES – everyone is out for Kosei’s blood. And all he really wants to do is befriend their ace…is that so wrong? :P Gearing up with Wine-chan for Volume 28…should be a fun time! ^^ Thanks for the comment!
