**DUELING ACE HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

This volume not only set the tone for a HYPE Semifinal of Seidou vs. Ichidai Third, but also was FULL of anxiety -- from Nori's injury to the fact that neither Sawamura or Amahisa are going to BUDGE an INCH as an ace. 

I am LOVING this game so far and we're ONLY two innings in -- it's going to be WILD, I'm sure, but I'm buckled in for the ride!

I love this volume so much 😂😂 I've been waiting so long for you to get here lol Ichidai is such a team of dorks ahahaha you'd never expect it but the way they all respond to Kosei being ridiculous is just the cutest thing I can imagine. And the fact that Hoshida openly talks about about a bat God and they all just support him and let him is just adorable. It's great to see Miyuki and Sawamura develop independently and together. Miyuki just really listening to Sawamuras ideas about the new pitch and not telling him he's being ridiculous or not just turning away straight out, like he did in season 1 when Sawamura first mentioned wanting to learn breaking balls. They've really grown as partners and I love seeing it. Furuya has had some of the BEST development in this series honestly and he doesn't get enough credit for it. This kid is so perceptive to his teammates now. He knew when Miyuki was hurt in season 2 because he pays attention and now he knows Noris hurt because he STILL pays attention. They mention Inuis "kid brother" being new on Teitou and now I'm SUPER intrigued to know if he also looks 40 years old or if he aged normally lmao You dont even need to ask how happy I was to see Tetsu and Takako roll up to Seidou as my favourite power couple lol. Looking like Mom and Dad with a group of teenage boys. Ahhh I love them. Genuinely that conversation between Tanba and Sawamura is one of the biggest saving graces in relation to that Yura game lol. As long as it wasn't just Sawamura who screwed up his first game as the ace. And the connection they both have together from last year is something I never realized I loved so much but I really do. It makes me so happy that Kataoka still checks on Sawamuras pitching by standing in for him as a batter. It's been their thing since the beginning and I love that it still is. Everything about Nori in this volume just hurts a lot but I really loved that it was Tanba who was stern with him and told him he has to get it checked out and that they had to tell Kataoka. The legacy of Chris just continues to spread lol The conversation in the office where Nori told Miyuki specifically he wasn't going to have a future in baseball after this honestly hurts me a lot. Talent wise, Nori absolutely could make it pro or even into the college league of baseball. He's gotten that reliable this last year. It sucks that he's willing to throw everything away for that. Not even just his baseball but like you said, even basically movement could be affected long term. I think its a wake up call for Miyuki that he doesn't really know what any one of his teammates is actually thinking in regards to baseball after high school. He must be wondering if anyone else doesn't plan to play still. Kosei has such a weird brand of support for his team lol. Hes very supportive but also sits there and tells them they're stupid and bad losers lmao. He kicks them and then bandages them up in the same breath 🤣🤣 It's so cute seeing Sawamuras family and Wakana reacting to his ace number. I'm sure they all believed in him but it must be so surreal at the same time lol Sawamuras speech this game is my absolute favourite and I genuinely can't deal with how fond and proud the former 3rd years look while they listen to him. Chris and Tanba especially looked just so fond and it's the best 😭 I won't lie, I've read these volumes many many times and not once did I realize Ryousuke was wearing a shirt that said "hi how are you" and I CRACKED UP when you pointed it out. Who gave him that shirt 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭 This volume really highlights Koseis villian arc lol some of those faces were so evil looking. I think he'd be a great villian honestly lol though he does blush a little too much I wanna hear Miyukis VA reacting to Hoshida so badly lol. Miyuki was so confused by him talking to his bat and for what a space case he is. Mochi channeling his Raichi hops in that last play lol I'm so glad he takes that pickoff so personally cuz now he's just gonna be insufferable to Ichidai as a team. Just an annoying Cheetah who doesn't give up 👏🏼👏🏼 Also, the semi finals from last year were actually against Sensen not Yakushi so you'd be right that the intensity wasn't as huge last year lol. It wasn't anywhere near as stressful. When it comes to Mei and Amahisas reputation nationally, Mei does have more exposure. It's important to note that while regular high school baseball watchers know of Amahisa, that's only in Tokyo, specifically west Tokyo since Amahisa never went to Nationals. Meis been to Nationals at least twice and made Shockwave at both of them so he's known on a full country level where as Amahisa is known locally only. The team wants the whole country to see Amahisa, not just Tokyo and he wants the same for them. They do talk a lot about Amahisa being drafted or considered for the draft but I think that's more to show his level of professionalism in his play style. Mei will absolutely be drafted as well but he doesn't exactly carry himself like a pro in the same way. Besides the fact that you actually get significantly more professional offers to play if you've been to koshien. My thoughts on Noris injury and Kataokas decision are very similar to yours. I'm so glad Kataoka told him no. It would absolutely make him an awful mentor to Nori if he didn't consider the best for his health at all times especially if it could be really serious and could seep into other aspects of his personal life. It's easy to understand where Noris coming from and this is the most out of character thing he's done in this series honestly but I applaud him for his passion and him trying to put it all on the line. You can tell he's hurting a lot inside, not from his elbow but I'm sure listening to Nori beg him for something like that also hurt Kataoka a lot. Its a shitty situation and a very common injury spot for pitchers. Very excited for next week ❤️🎉

This volume is SO GOOD! I’m so excited to be in the Semifinals because it’s been an amazing game so far! I love that Ichidai is a big bunch of dorks that support each other! :3 Yes, Kosei is SO weird, but I love him. He has this odd “tough love” air about him, but his team totally respects it. It’s great! It WILL be great to hear Miyuki’s VA and all of the others reacting to Ichidai. :) Yessss, Sawamura and Miyuki have both grown and they treat each others’ ideas seriously – such growth from season one! :) And to see how much Tanba has grown as well, and him helping Sawamura feel better from his mess up? It’s so sweet! And YES, the legacy of Chris – it’s haunted Seidou and no one is immune from it, not even our guardian senpai! I FELT for Nori, because he IS talented, but doesn’t see that future for himself. :( It’s very relatable to think you’re not going to go pro but it’s so sad he was willing to hurt himself SO much just because he thought his career was over after baseball. I agree, I wonder if this will affect Miyuki talking to his fellow third years about what their plans are post-high school? I did feel for him but agreed that Kataoka made the right call…hopefully things will work out for the finals, eh? Kataoka being the batter for Sawamura is so friggin’ cool! I love that between them as well! And Furuya’s development is so underrated! He’s grown to KNOW his team so much and pays attention – I forgot about him noticing Miyuki back in Season 2! Yes! OMG I totally missed that Inui’s kid brother was on Teitou’s team like Masashi is on Seidou – I want him to be like a Shojo protagonist and be the most beautiful…can we get that, TJ? :P And yesssss, Takako and Tetsu – just make it canon already, TJ! I love that Sawamua’s family is there to support him and YES, that speech is probably my favorite he’s given so far! And ahhhhh, the proud look from Chris and Tanba make me want to explode with joy; it’s so sweet! And hahaha, Ryo’s shirt! It’s so ridiculous! Kosei is that villain that has a crush on his rival – like if the Riddler had a crush on Batman. :P I’m so glad that Kuramochi was NOT going to take getting picked off sitting down! You go, Cheetah-boy! Ooohhhhh, god, no wonder I don’t remember Semifinals being nearly as intense! #sorrysensen Oooooh, that makes more sense about Amahisa just being known well regionally, whereas Mei’s getting cologne ad calls nationwide. :P That makes a LOT more sense!
