Oh, I have been hyped all YEAR for this series (my brother is a manga reader and LOVES it) and this trailer has officially got me hook, line, and SINKER!  

Action, gore, powerful (pun intended) female characters, and amazing animation and possible moral ambiguity and themes on the human condition and the definitions of "humanity?" SOLD! October can't get here soon enough.

Good, another series just chock full of rainbows and kittens. Don't know much about Chainsaw Man other than that i hear good things about it. I'll check it out and it does look gorgeous... eh, well animated.

Hahahaha, a seemingly abused boy in a dumpster of an abode with seemingly nothing but something demonic and monstrous to turn to to survive? Seems like another day in Pleasant Valley, eh? :D The only thing I know outside this trailer is my brother loves the manga and that I've read one side-story the mangaka has made and it was powerful and very raw...so I'm excited! And the animation looks top tier, so that's good!

That trailer is definitely super hype, but I can't help but think it's slightly misleading. After all it misses two foundational parts of the story that are there even from the first chapter, its emotional intimacy and its comedy. I get why, trailers are more about tone than anything, and focusing on the exciting action, which there is plenty of in the series, is probably a smart move. But I wouldn't even call chainsawman's action especially important to the main plot(some of the most pivotal fights even happen off screen), let alone the emotional core of the story. Can't wait for the show and your reaction!

I am trying to avoid any more spoilers or hints as to what the story's about so I'm being careful with comments, but I do love the editing of the trailer -- my brother has told me it's a "funny" series (our senses of humor are pretty dark, though, so we'll see where that goes) but I am really excited to get into the emotional core of the story -- having seen "Look Back" and what the author is capable of, I am excited! Thanks so much!! I can't wait!
